Conpute

Conpute was my first IT position and I could not have asked for a better role. It has a great location, with no need to fight for parking, easy to learn daily tasks, all tools are provided and flexible management. 

The days are simple. You arrive, and begin repairing devices. There's a procedure in place to follow, from the to-be-fixed pile, your work space, filling out tickets, managing inventory and final destination for fixed units. There's measures in place to catch mistakes. Some days you might be assigned to do deliveries; either a company vehicle is provided or you are reimbursed for using your own.

Management is understanding and welcoming. If you have something come up, be it an appointment planned in advance or a sudden emergency, they'll work with you. If you have suggestions or knowledge on a topic, they'll hear you out. Putting in extra effort is recognised and appreciated. Management goes to bat for you when needed. The atmosphere is friendly; co workers help each other out. Lunch can be taken at your discretion. 

During my time at Conpute, I learned a lot about efficiency, coming up with new approaches when something wasn't working, preparing large amounts of data, preparing shipments, writing documentation and many general IT concepts. I brought willingness to learn and feel that I was richly rewarded in experience and knowledge.

The best two parts of the role was the feeling of accomplishment when the to-do list gets a large chunk taken out of it and the "aha!" moment when you finally figure out why a particular problem is occurring and how to resolve it. 

Cannot recommend Conpute enough to get your foot in the IT industry door!

This company under pays and undermines their workers if it means a better name for themselves. They make claims that they're a "family-driven" company with a friendly environment, but that just translates to unprofessionalism and lack of awareness. The work culture admittedly used to be alright when it was smaller, but it's changed significantly. 
In my time I saw terminations for reasons like gossip, and a number of firings were truly unfounded and undeserved well after probationary periods ended.
I have seen shocking business practices and organization at the expense of others, the same tasks being redone by the same people due to on the fly opinion change or poor foresight.
For the most part managers have singled out and spoken in bad light about workers behind their backs to the rest, and people are continually overworked because they refuse to hire more than minimum. Not to mention there's 0 room for growth (yet false promises of growth) so you'll end up stuck and tired.
You may get treated differently than to your face. If it isn't clear to you while you're there, it'll be obvious how bad your mental health diminished there after you're spontaneously terminated!

You show up on your first day and you are either in the offices repairing Chromebooks or Lenovos, or you are on the road shadowing someone. Either way you can see how tired and burned out employees are. The older employees can show up to work late, but new hires cannot show tardiness; there is no standard being set. Alot of the employees were unfit or ill, they were burned out.

They expect devices to be rebuilt at a impossible rate, especially when you aren't well versed; they expect you to catch up. Coworkers gossip and are given preferential treatment. Lunch is barely alloted in your schedules, no time to relax and eat.

There is alot of driving involved, at the time I was working there, there were certain days where you had to use your personally owned vehicle for deliveries and I don't think there was compensation.

You can either be driving on the road picking up systems from customers or on the bench repairing devices. Mostly Chromebooks. Very easy to work on devices. Sometimes iPads. Those are harder. Relaxed atmosphere. If you have to go for a dr appointment or for a meeting, they let you make appointment without problem.  Very understanding people. It is fast paced but makes the day go by quickly. Excellent place to start in computer repair and it. They offer lots of help and guidance. They always help staff. Very nice managers who help with whatever you need. If you use your own car you get paid mileage but they have their own cars mostly. 

Great place to work! 
You are to fix chromebooks and other devices on a workbench with your co workers.  The chromebooks are not hard to fix and if you ask, management or coworkers they are willing to help. If you are not repairing, you are on the road delivering chromebooks to schools. The company has there own vehicles and if you use your own, you get compensation for it. You can take your lunch whenever as well. 
Management is good. If you do your job well, they will not have a problem with you.  
The employees are friendly.  Good work environment  and everyone works together to get tasks done for the day. 
Recommend working here if you are just starting in the tech feild. 

Starter job if you heading into IT. Expect to complete a certain KPI cause it gets tracked during probation and after that.

But other than that, you get a full time stable job with benefits. 

They need to improve on the training cause on the real first day, slammed with too much info to grasp. But in my understanding, is that everyday you need to complete at least 25 Chromebooks per day and register the solution in their system. If you don't, in the clause you sign they can terminate if you don't even reach close to that number during probation and even afterwards.




Good place to work. Culture is good. Management is good. I learned a lot about replacing and troubleshooting computer hardware and dealing with customers. Most enjoyable part of the job is making the customer happy when you fix their problems. The hardest part of the job is making sure you make everyone happy. Trying to figure things out for the first time while doing so in a timely manner was also challenging.

Overall the culture and staff is good at Conpute, but this is taken back by the horrible management and communication within the company. Don't think for a second you are anything but a number to them. Doesn't matter how much you do for the company or how good you do at your job, they will recycle you without blinking an eye and without notice or just cause.

My experience with the company was brief.  I always felt like part of the family, right up until my dismissal, which was very abrupt and came without any warning.  Other than that, seemed to be a good company to work for.

Management is great, I’ve had much to learn however my colleagues have been so welcoming and great to work with. Everyone works collaboratively to get the job done. If you work hard, you will succeed. Overall this is the best experience I’ve had in a workplace, truly a great team.
