The job itself was good, however the owner of the company treats everyone like they should just be lucky to have a job. This attitude filters down to management, even the ones who try to be good managers. 
The owner's motto is "take care of the company and we'll take care of you" which they do not. Morale is so low and there are no incentives or recognition programs for employees. There are no yearly reviews and to get a raise people basically have to threaten to leave. 
The pay is below market for any of the positions -  not a company I would suggest to anyone.

Management is ok, but some of the yard workers you work beside are ignorant and very rude to you. They think they run the place and act like a boss towards you. If you say something you'll end up getting the bad work and the employees with seniority will say something to management to get you fired. I seen it happen to a few people. That place is a revolving door. Fit in or get out. (And by fit in, I mean do what the 30 wannabe bosses tell you to do)

Learned how to operate Boom trucks, Moffett trucks, conveyor belt trucks, forklift, shipping, how to organize a group of workers, Lots of heavy lifting, I kept to myself at work although I'm pleasant to work around. The hardest part of the job was walking drywall down the stairs and up the stairs. Typically I would lift heavy half the day and half driving. Had to drive through  mud, ice snow, steep hills. The most enjoyable part of the day was operating the equipment.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Get to know locations of some items in ample time, because costumer will go angry.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Always hot. You have to speed up forklift as if you are about to fly. 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
It is always busy. No down time

the work is hard not enough pay the work environment is unsafe and hazardous to your health. they have the minimum amount of workers so when one person does not come into work the work load is tripled on everyone else. the attitude of the work place is rude no one wants  to work there and everyone feels trapped.

If you enjoy being micromanaged and scrutinized.  If you like charging high prices and loosing customers. If you like getting customers and loosing then to sub par yard guys and worse delivery staff. This is the place for you!

Was possibly my favorite job. Management was fair and understanding . The work is tough and you have to face the outside elements.
There is alot to learn but at the end of each day you feel you put in an honest days work.

I started as a material handler and became a multilevel operator within 1 year. The company poorer their knowledge into me and I became one of the top guys on the trucks. I made $37.50/h average on weight and value. 

Everyone has a positive thing to bring to work everyday. When you need a helping hand there is good chance that there will always be someone available to help you, even without asking. Someone is always there.

over the course of working here I learned many skills including safe operation of a forklift, organizing an outdoor warehouse, safely putting products on shelving units.
