The people around you are nice and they make working there a little bit more bearable, but you're dealing with people's insurance and their pension and the calls you end up receiving make you feel like you're ruining a person's life; especially from those who recently lost a loved one and you have to tell them that they are not eligible as a beneficiary to anything.

I was the technical team lead, quality assurance and training and development.
The hardest part of this position was transitioning current employees into a contact centre/call centre from a regional individual client load delivering Human Resources support.
The most enjoyable is helping staff become comfortable, knowledgeable and able to do a good job!

I had the opportunity to work with a very large community of human resources professionals as well as operations and corporate management professionals from whom I learned countless strategies and ways to improve my own performance and professionalism.

Their teaching model has a great way of explaining how to adapt to the different types of customers. Many employees were using these skills in their everyday lives afterwards.

Although they have a hard time giving feedback on performance. Agents are left in the dark about their current performance. (Unless they do something wrong)

Overall it was a fun place to work. Great coworkers. Hardly any support from Managers and they did not seem to know who to assist employees or train, teach, or lead. Pay was mediocre. To meet goals you had to do overtime.

Each and every call was different yet challenging and exciting. you are scrutinized constantly tho for time away from the phone and length of calls it is very very busy

Taken very good care of in terms of health. Thisis a well structured position. It requires some forward planning to ensure you are processing information as quickly as you can.

Everyone at work is very helpful and friendly. I learnt how to handle customers who are unhappy with the services. The management and supervisors are always there to assist when you need assistance

This place could be a good stepping stone to gain experience and move on to another job. I did learn many skills during my career, notably stress management, time management and dealing with many conflicting tasks and deadlines.

Contact/Call Center offered all callers information services about the City of Toronto, Canada etc..a very challenging public , but a very rewarding job.
