Contemporary Office Interiors

The Burnaby location is a good place to work. The Manager/Supervisor is really nice and quite easy to work for/with. There is LITTLE or NO support when it comes to the Sales team and Project Management team in Vancouver. Very hard to get in touch with these people most of the time, when you are lucky enough to get through you get no definitive answer(let me look into that for you).Most of the people in the Vancouver location are not helpful when it comes to why certain things have happened and what to do about it. There is NO accountability for these people who work in the Vancouver Office(maybe I should get into sales). Also, the upper management in Calgary is an absolute joke. NO support whatsoever to help the Burnaby location grow and succeed. All there is is Negative feedback from a person who does Not do their job well, and in my opinion should Not be in that position(A very negative individual, does not consider all of the facts before making a decision). I would recommend working at the Burnaby location to get some experience. Once you get the experience, you would probably do much better with a different organization. Not much room for salary increases, unless you do not want to be able to pay your bills with the cost of living where it is in the Lower Mainland.

Great place to develop your professional skills. If you come to work open-minded there are so many things you can do - really no limits. The company has young leaders and is making big growth decisions.  If you come to do your best you will love your job. There are some really great people at the company. 

If you need a lot of hand-holding, you will have a hard time. 

If you challenge yourself it is easy to stand out to clients, peers, and management. Come to work with a can-do attitude and you can have some really interesting experiences that I have found hard to obtain in other businesses.  


The management at the Winnipeg office is very toxic. In my short time working there, I witnessed several red flags with the way they communicate, treat others, and welcome new hires. 
The training is extensive, stressful, and mentally exhausting as they give you a "pass or fail" exam at the end of your 2nd week (which you have to pass in order to do actual work). The environment is not welcoming, no one talked to me for my entire first week, 2 others quit in the time I was there, and with several others looking for other jobs. 
I strongly discourage anyone from working here, save your time and sanity.  

Managment is okay, can be hard to move up and grow. Job is great when it is busy but when it is slow it can be painful. Learnt tons about the industry and warehouse, you must apply yourself. Safety is very important at COI and they did an excellent job of making it a safe place to work. The team in the back is an awesome group an often do BBQ's for team building and other event. Up front also has a great group but there is not much connection from front to back, unless working in showroom or with someone directly.

From start of the day to the end of each day this was a very busy  job. Getting all the orders and contractors organized each day. Inputting information in computer and in written format to make sure every one had the correct products for each job. This was a large flooring company, and I dealt with many contractors and subcontractors every day weather by phone or in person. Also organized jobs with sales people.

This company has a great culture, supports staff ideas, offers room to move up and flexibly in my day. 

They often have staff events with an active social committee, and industry events. The office is modern with ergonomic office furniture, plenty of sunlight, and an open office layout. 

They do offer a hybrid work experience for roles that allow for it. 

Did I mention you can bring your dog to work too!

A big thing I looked for when interviewing was work culture in the interview process to ensure this would be a good fit for me. COI definitely has a vibrant work culture & great people to work with! This is somewhere I see myself staying long term as there is also room to grow within the company. There is lots of excitement when it comes to working for COI!

Not much of an office community.  Asking for help, or offering help, didn't happen that much. Most of the senior employees didn't seem to feel like speaking to the newer employees, unless spoken to.  Management was only out to hit targets and make money.  There was no constructive feedback, and when there was feedback, it was unprofessional.

Great place to work with the opportunity to learn and grow. Management is supportive and available. They treat their employees and clients with respect - want long-term relationships. Great team of supportive colleagues that help and guide you.
