Worked as a Salt Water Technician, on water majority of time. Pro is they teach you to sail a vessel. It had positive moments, Started on Grand Manan Island. Found it very stressful, not because of the work rather the drama on the drama on the warf. To many managers best friends with employees and a lot of favoritism. Worked of the island and it was a completely different. all game. Laughed and loved the people i worked with daily! It pays extra to work island they call it isolation i called it drama pay. 

Worked on the Island of Grand Manan, Cookes housed off island employees in camp style living that are full equipped with House keeping, Cable, WIFi. Loved the water and the fact you learn to said you’re own fishing boat. Only real issues was favoritism! Island managers hired close friends and non island residents had to work to be accepted into the click! Lots of drama and gossip. Safety also was an issue as people were doing things that were very dangerous. 

The work wasn't really difficult but you're cold and wet all day long. I would wear up to four layers under my smock but I would still be cold in there. You are handling cold, wet  fish all day which makes your hands cold even with gloves. Pin boning the fish was tedious and I found the shift drug slowly on. I would not work there again although I left on good terms.

People are against one another, management has no care for the people in the plant working, The money and benefits are okay. No room to grow once you reach a certain point. Shift work isn't terrible but always short staffed your left doing more then your own job all the time.

Worked on Grand Manan, a lot of Back stabbing and drama on the Island. Use of Drugs on boats was high!! If you like working on water in high pressure situations. be prepared to sail a fishing vessel. I recommend not working on Islad 

Steady bi-weekly income and health benefits, and courses are the pros good for entry to aquatic work 
Cons are long hours, drama (we are a family) type employment. Worked there for many years and didn't go up any "ladders" 
Good short term paycheck.
Long term stress , negative work environment.

the job itself was not bad, just the people there we're not the most cheerful and easy to get along with sometimes . overall not a bad job but not something i would want to do for any length of time

Had to be the worst job I ever applied for I didn’t get payed enough and the sent me to various stressful jobs alone and expected me to pick and move 36 to 55 kgs everyday with no help when I needed it

I worked at Cookes for the last two summers, as summer jobs. I liked how you were guaranteed hours. The job is a demanding job and is very fast paced.
