I am compensated extremely well for what I do and what education is needed.
The 12 hour shifts are also great for work/life balance as we have lots of days off. The entry positions are quite easy to do once proper training as been given.

Safety seems to be a priority in the plant and there is lots of stuff always going on with workplace safety. That being said the way COVID 19 was handled on certain shifts was very poor. (Nobody knew how to take off/put on a mask properly, supervisor and team lead encouraged NOT physical distancing for the sake of efficiency, even when it was slow everybody had to be at work and at risk or face write ups, etc). Overall I have been impressed with safety, but COVID 19 was not handled well before the layoff.

The technology is old and hasn't been upgraded in decades. Almost all new tech that is put in is often made to be the same as the outdated technology. It is also important to the company to have everything done as cheaply as possible which sometimes means that doing things "the old way" was quicker, easier, worked fine, etc.

Currently whenever I talk to anyone in the change room between shifts there is a lot of people who are not satisfied with their job. The joke often is something along the lines of "If you worked here as long as I have you would be b***hy too". The morale is very low across all shifts.

Overall I would say it is an okay place to work if you can keep your head down and not question anyone above you. If you are the type of person who wants to make their workplace better you will likely be miserable.

Like anywhere else it has its moments. Average day is low stress and very manageable, (Depending in your position placement).
Shifts can be lengthy. Continental 12 hour shifts. Every other work week the work days flip. Mon Tues Fri Sat Sun .. then just Wed Thurs the following week.

So the work home ratio is quite a nice tradeoff.

Basic job of mine was to deburr and weld plus repair mistakes done by everyone down the line. that in this place i would never move up to a welder fitter because i was good at repairing. mangement was ok but lack strength in of position people to fix the jobs before it got to me. friendly workplace and surrounding but no room for improvement  nor acknowledgement of a good job always what i did wrong.

Coors banquet used to be one of my favorite summertime beverages. Coorstek is owned by the same people that make it. After my work experience there I can no longer buy it, out of spite. I won't support them. Terrible people, terrible place, terrible work environment, awful hours, awful managment, awful pay. This place is pure evil, if your desperate for money, get out as quick as possible.

The paris ont plant was extremely dirty, hazardous dust and very hot. Management liked to maintain a toxic environment to take any focus off of themselves. Pay for trades was well below area average, benefits and pension plan  were average, no opportunity for advancement or training. The only pro in maintenance was there was good equipment, tools and supplies at our disposal. 

Extremely  focused on training and safety. Friendly and helpful but 12 hour shifts are rough going in a busy,  physical job. Management  were approachable and interested in their employees.  Wages are ok but good benefits including health, dental and company pension.

A typical week at work was entering accounts payable, P.O. receiving, reception, cheque run, filing, problem solutions, filling label bins, at times arranging luncheons, maintaining files.

I really enjoyed working there they had large equipment large parts good people. The shop was a neat and tidy health and safety and your well-being came first...
