Had so much potential to be a great place to work. Most of the people I worked with were great.

The biggest problem at this location is the fact it's plagued by poor management. 
- They constantly make empty promises and have no sense of organization. 
- People constantly come and go from other locations, and everybody has different rules and definitions of how the jobs should be done. Thus, rules change all the time, and it makes no sense.
- They brag about how much money "we" make, but aren't willing to spend it on equipment to literally do the job they hired us for. 
-They "grade" you daily on metrics you cannot control, and that's all they talk about. 
- There is no sense of job security because they straight up tell you your not safe. If they find a better person, you're gone.
- If you even THINK about challenging them on ANYTHING you're gonna be on their bad side, likely forever. They absolutely HATE their peasant subordinates telling them they're wrong.
- Despite corporate policy for promotions being seniority based, it's really just favoritism. If they like you, they'll push for you. If they don't, you're never going to go anywhere.
-The main "leadership style" is strong-arm tactics with a "my way or else..." mentality. If you don't do it their way (even if corporate literature says otherwise) you're gonna have a bad time.

At the end of the day, all the managers care about is how good YOUR work makes THEM look. They don't actually care about you as an employee. It cannot be stressed enough how poor a system that is.

Another major issue is training. Mostly because there is basically none. And that goes for everybody. It's so annoying being led by people who have no idea what they're doing, or what their job actually is, or what yours is. The rate of turnover is very high. People either get fed up and quit, or get fired for reduculous reasons, commonly "poor performance" (which is due to poor leadership and lack of training, usually.) Managers blame everything on employees and never own up to their own shortcomings or mistakes.

The corporation allegedly wants this location to be the "flagship" location of Canada. I can tell you now, that's not going to happen without major changes.

If you are looking at this location, I'd advise against it. They just set you up to fail and don't seem to have any intentions on changing that, which is really too bad. They could do so much better if they got their act together.

This place is the worst. The company is too focused on taking down the competition and so cheap it forces individual yards to pay for things like replacing tires on loaders and even just fixing the loaders. That is a cost of business that the head office should help offset, not punish the yards as though these things happen due to the fault of the workers. It's normal wear and tear. You're dealing with wrecked vehicles. There will be times when a tire is punctured by loose scrap. But yard workers are expected to do a full day's work of receiving, inventory of vehicles, imaging said vehicles, and then walk acres of yard picking up even the smallest debris. It's ridiculous. Office staff are held responsible for things they can't control, such as independent tow companies who are contracted by the yards and the deadline to pick up vehicles. The drivers aren't Copart employees and don't really answer to the dispatcher, but if vehicles come in late, the dispatcher lives in fear of losing his or her job, at least at the London yard. If I could rate this 0 stars, I would.

Only worked here for close to 2 months but management is absolute joke, was never given proper training had to constantly ask questions on what I needed to do and how to do it properly. It was never good enough for them, I followed the proper steps to prep the cars but that wasn’t good enough apparently cars with multiple garbage can and People personal items/information filled front to back with dozen of receipts and other items should only take a couple minutes or seconds. Was never told what I was doing wrong until I got let go that the end of the day work day nonetheless. HR will be contacted about this Joke of location that represents them and how poorly mismanaged it has since the promotion of the old gm since I was hired. 

It's like a magic show there, have to keep an eye on everything.  Cause what there saying to you is not what really going to happen.  Make promises but no follow through, one big revolving door when it comes to the staff.Smart one quit, others get let go during probation cause they can't do the job.  However how are you supposed to do the job when there no training of the staff. Then they keep staff who can't multi task or do the job, but sure do know how to suck up.  Management snaps at staff for no reason, very toxic environment. The staff that keep each other going.

It’s so busy so the day goes fast, love my coworkers and the buyers and transporters

Very busy, lots of responsibilities 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
It’s a great environment and very supportive. People are always willing to help and there is room for growth within the company. As long as you can multi task and stay cool under the busy conditions

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Fast paced and never downtime, you will never be bored.

Supervisor likes to laugh and talk about employee retention, so many employees quit or get fired . They try to lie and say, you don't accumulate vacation pay before 3 months, after bringing it to her attention, again she tried to say, after 3 months and I had to educate her that NO, it accumulates from day one. She didn't like the fact that I was right. They have their favorite employees and let them do what they want with no consequences. If they don't like you on a personal level, they just fire you. The job itself is good, loved most of the customers and I know they liked me.

Copart is a great place to work if you are a self starter and are motivated, the sky really is the limit for you, it isn't easy but the relationships I personally built at copart are still a part of my daily life, if you are looking for easy this may not be your cup of tea, but if you are looking to stay busy, be appreciated, a fast pace, and a career it really is a good place to work, like any place it depends on the management but I was fortunate to work with and for really good people.

Lots of unnecessary drama due to poor management. Manager will discuss employee problems with other employees. Lack of training results in disciplinary action being unfairly taken. stressful place with the expectation to not have a life outside of work but to also not take any over time. Continuously short paid. Hard work and effort are not noticed.  However the team outside of management was great.

Terrible place to work. Management is terrible and  based out of Ontario and dont have a clue. 100s of employees in 4 years. Pay is terrible. 2% increases yearly and expected to run loader for low pay. Employees are barely recognized and there's lots of backstabbing from office staff. I would not reccomend working here.

Do not work here, lack of training, management only cares about numbers not employees, and numbers are never good enough no matter how hard you try, always telling people it’s not good enough 
Management is degrading to employees, lots of drama and gossip. Expect you to learn on your own, not willing to take time to train employees properly. Most toxic place i have ever worked. High turnover in staff
