Copper Branch

On the franchise: 
The idea behind Copper Branch has always spoke to me in the best way and their way of using fresh and local food, and bringing fast vegan food to people’s life is innovative and a really good value.


My experience at MY location (NB; this does NOT apply to all locations. I can only state the things that i have witnesses):
I believe that my experience at Copper Branch was pretty high in emotions. My first time in the company was awesome, and it continued to be this way for a couple of weeks. Unfortunately, i got to see pretty quick the poor gestion. My location’s administration got rocky really fast. When i came in the first time, there was no manager, and they hired one around the time i got hired. We had to train together and it was an odd thing that my manager had to train for the same things as i did: i couldn’t ask her questions about the job, she didn’t even know it herself. She quit very quickly after that because no one helped her to actually get to know her job. So everything had to change that i got used to by then changed.

Later on, we had many mew managers. Then we got our manager switched with one from another store. Everything changed again. The whole store was reorgonized and just as we were getting used to the new arrangement, this manager quit too and we had to get used to the old arrangement again. We finally got a new manager which i believe is still currently in the same location.

In my journey, i have seen too many employees (way more than it should have been) come and go, because of how poorly they were treated and how demanding the job was. I always felt like we never really got to have good teams that worked well together because every week or so, we had to switch things up because someone left. We also always had to train a new person who either stayed two weeks, messing up our teams again, or quit two months later, leaving us having to train new people all over again.

This lack employee, in my opinion, also caused us to overwork and not be able to meet the clients expectations most of the time. The number of complaints on our google page was so high and the comments were terrible to read for as long as i can remember. And the worst was that we couldn’t do anything because we never had the effective number of personnel we needed to actually perform and offer good service. 

Finally, i think that the employees’ best interests have never really been a priority to those in charge because i always was made to feel guilty when i needed a sick day and people were afraid to talk about their issues, in fear of getting ignored or just told to work harder. 

On a positive note, i definitely made awesome friends along the way. People in Copper Branch often become like family because of the similar things they go through and becaude they speak to each other about their issues since they won’t be heard from above. Copper Branch has also proven to me to be very inclusive. I have never seen this type of compay hiring a genrally equal female to male ratio like they did, as well as many people with different ethnical backgrounds. I also found it was inclusive for people learning french and english. That was really beautiful to see. It was definitly an enriching environment in that way.

My general experience in Copper Branch has taught me to speak for people who can’t, when injustice happens. It has also taught me that there are things you can’t control and sometimes, work is one of it so you just really have to make the best of it. However, it is not a job that i would recommend, because it never was easy, and i feel like it’s the kind of job that definitely could have been easy if, once again, we had the toold for it. I really had high expectations for this company because of all the values they seemed to want to represent, but they did not meet my standards. I hope that in the future, all Copper Branch will be able to live up to the statements that were made from the franchise, because i honestly believe that with the concept and the values of Copper Branch, i employees and management teams were given all the tools and effective the needed, this company wpuld flourish is the most amazing way.

the hardest part of the job would be how stressful it was when we received rushes. At night or even at lunch we would be 2 or 3 people serving a line that was 25 people or more. The bills would sometimes be 100+ dollars of food and would normally take 10 minutes alone and we would be expected to do it in 5 in order to handle the rush.The worst was this is when usually we would get a lot of ubers as well which added to the stress cause drivers would be upset if the order was not ready on time even during a rush.It was super stressful but would go by quickly. This is when usually mistakes were made and customers would complain and yell.The most enjoyable part of the job would be the staff at this branch and getting 40% of the food when working.Working this job has taught me how to work in a fast paced environment and how to multi-task.I had a love hate relationship with this job because it was fast food which is difficult but In general pretty good place to work.

great experience Working as a crew member at Copper Branch has been an enriching and fulfilling experience that has allowed me to grow both personally and professionally. From the moment I joined the team, I was impressed by the positive work environment and the dedication of my colleagues to providing exceptional service to our customers.

One of the aspects that stand out about working at Copper Branch is the emphasis on healthy and sustainable food options. As someone passionate about health and wellness, it's been incredibly rewarding to be part of a company that prioritizes offering nutritious plant-based meals. Not only do we serve delicious food, but we also contribute to promoting a healthier lifestyle for our customers and the community.

A typical work day consists of preparing the food stations, cleaning the tables, working the cash and providing excellent customer service. I learnt how valuable teamwork is. The positive relationships that we all have between co-workers has made our location the number one top seller in Montreal. We value communication, speed and quality. 
I learnt that there is always more to learn. By watching others and asking for help, you can perfect your own skills in a certain area. This has made me a more efficient worker. I realize that there is always more that a person can do, so it is important to consider the ways of others.

Basically you are working in a vegan mcdonalds, you need to constantly tell lie that vegan food is healthier to customers.

Food is really expensive and customer will always complain about it, if you are located in a nice area tips are a good but depends on how its split. Owner often split the tips by giving more to people he likes more. Even tho some employee made most of the tips from rush hour, people who worked in the morning and do nothing get the same and sometimes more which doesn’t any sense.


It takes forever for me to get a response. I waited about a month after my interview to get my job, and i had to do pretty much everything, make food, clean,re stock, dishes, etc... the night i knew i couldnt take it was when i was with 1 other person who had pretty much as much anxiety as i had and it was just customer after customer and i had no idea what i was doing. It was really stressful, that night i quit,that was like in october and i still havent gotten my owed money, i was supposed to get it yesterday but yet again, im not getting a response


I had a terrible time working there. The employees were very nice, however the work load compared to the benefits and salary makes no sense. 
The owner of the company was often extremely rude and harassing to his employees. Which made working with him very uncomfortable and it triggered many arguments. 
I did learn however, to cope with different characters at the workplace and to solve problems. I also learned a basis in management as a supervisor I replaced the manager quite often.

If you're a student this is a good job because it is flexible. However, when you work there, don't expect to be treated with respect. No real connection with your bosses. You're basically a number and they do not care at all about you. 

What I've learn:

-See redflags?  Run,
-Food rotation

Hardest part of the job is to keep smiling and focus when your boss is yelling or just being in a bad mood.

Back when I worked at copper branch, the franchise was just starting out. My paycheques were always wrong, we didn't have a manager, and everyone was stressed out because the schedule was always wrong. I got scheduled outside my availability a lot of times. Things got so bad that the manager from an other store transferred. He saved the store! But we got tips and the people I worked with were really fun.

I've been with Copper Branch for more than a year now and I absolutely am in love with the concept. It is wonderful to be a part of something that is truly making a difference in the fast-casual food industry. The work is demanding, but most definitely rewarding. Copper Branch is also growing and there is huge advancement opportunity as we expand in number of locations across Canada.
I am excited to see the future Copper Branch.
