On the cover, working for Instant Brands appears to be a great place to work.

Underneath it all, you're treated like a disposable number and nothing more.
Processes and procedures and nearly non existent and what was expected on Monday will be changed by Tuesday.

Training is limited but adequate, but follow up resources are below acceptable standards.

Management is left in the hands of inexperienced "Team Leads", most who's experience comes from the few months they worked for the company, with the majority having no leadership experience or technical support/call centre experience.

Senior management doesn't show it's head unless its to inform staff that changes were coming and making it a "take it or leave it" outcome.

Most hired staff are hired for "Warranty and technical support", working set shifts Monday through Friday.
But once hired, you're informed that shift work is inevitable, shifts get based on seniority regardless of skill or how well you do.

Then your job gets changed and you become more of a Questions and Answers person, with limited resources, holding peoples hands and helping them to cook recipes rather than doing tech support.

Staff will be offered "new jobs", and be given additional work and responsibilities, but you do not get compensated financially for it.

As a Canadian company, its also disappointing that they care more about their US customers than they do local, and will make sure you work Canadian holidays just because they can.

If you have no experience, and looking for a temporary short term job for a couple of months, then by all means apply to work with them.

Otherwise, I would suggest avoiding them. There is no long term employment possibility, nor will you ever get respected or treated fairly.

I worked here for 2 months, very poor management the customer service manager is not qualified for the position, I was disrespected and mistreated by customer service manager, they felt it was okay to reprimand there myself in the building lobby in front of everyone at the end of the shift for mispronouncing a word on hear say from the team lead has no idea on how to do the job with no experience. I have been in customer service for over 25 years and this company is a joke. On top of this I took my complaint to HR and they confirmed the manger was in the wrong and the out come was the manager has to take a course and nothing was offered to myself, totally unvalued.  Be careful not a fair place to work.

Due to the merger with Corelle Brands it is no longer a family run small town business but just part of a large US corporation.

The entry level pay is so low that a single income earner will need a second job to make ends meet. No RRSP plan, no profit sharing despite massive profits.  Benefits are okay. 

Management defends policies but seldom changes them no matter how badly they fail.  

The support department expanded in the fall of 2018 and about half of those new hires have left the company. 

The most enjoyable part of the day is clocking out and leaving.

Understaffed and over-worked. There is no sense of direction. They expect you to learn on your own. THE ENTIRE COMPANY only 15 people take calls Monday-Friday. So you can see how overworked an employee is. It is beyond stressful they just laid off a bunch of people to give jobs to other people in other countries. With everyone losing jobs these days what a blow in the gut. 

I worked there for a long time with a lot of changes within the time period. Had the best job that I loved so much but due to poor choices in management I was let go 'without cause'. My manager had no experience and was a bully to the entire marketing team. Such a shame since it was my favourite job and turned into a nightmare. Really hope they learn how to treat people and find new management that knows how to properly work with their staff. I would absolutely not recommend ever working for them until a change of management.

Working in customer care is a waste of time and effort. Management does not care about it's employees and makes empty promises to get you to stay. There is no consistency in policies and communication is terrible within the department. There is a lack of common sense used, which makes for the position frustrating and stressful. No flexibility with your work schedule, and good luck getting time off. In addition, there is a lack of job security and growth, people are always leaving or getting let go.

I enjoyed my time with Double Insight very much.  I was originally hired as a temporary worker and ended up staying for over a year.

The people were great and a lot of fun.

I was able to work from home which I really appreciated as I do not have access to a car on a regular basis.  

The management is amazing and there is definitely a family atmosphere in the office.

It is a great place to work!

No career advancement, no job security (employees let go or leave almost on a weekly basis), salary is poor. Employees are told different procedures on a weekly basis, lack of consistency and no employee growth. 

Co-workers are friendly, which makes the workplace tolerable however management is poor. Wouldn't recommend working in this environment.

Not a terrible place to work. Lots to learn very quickly. Resources needed to do the work are many, which can be stressful. Don't fall behind and don't try to be too creative, just follow the plan as there isn't much support if you don't. It's easier to let go of people than to nurture them.

Overall, it is an uprising star in the field of small kitchen appliances. It dominated the sales on Amazon.
It is very balanced between work and life. Very good company culture. Colleges get along quite well.
