What is the best part of working at the company?
Nothing. It's just a normal minimum wage job where you do more work than you are paid for.  The uniforms suck, you can't even wear black pants of your own. I got yelled at for that, sent home, and had to come back that day with the other pants, which were in dirty laundry but they didn't care. You end up doing more than you signed up for. 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
The most stressful part of this job was the fact they didn't care that you were stressed/overhwlemed. They didn't do anything or offer any help when I informed them that I was stressed about how much of a work load they put on me (that work load wasn't on the job application btw).  Called the day before that I need a day off, they didn't let it happen

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
I felt like there was a  hierarchy. Bring the new hire I would always be put to do odd jobs that no one else was ever asked to do (also not on the job description). 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Pressure. The manager always hovered over me and other employees to watch how well we do a task. And you would get talked to, kinda publicly, about how to do the task better. Which was embarrassing to have customers hearing in on that.

I was proud to be an employee with Cornerstone Co-op. The company offers great benefits and many opportunities for growth, development, and advancement. Cornerstone Co-op cultivates a positive and safe working environment which created a personal sense of belonging in the organization. My managers were very supportive and helped align my personal goals with the overall vision and objectives of the company. For me, the most enjoyable aspect of the job was the strong relationships that I was able to build with both my co-workers and customers. I truly felt connected to the community that I lived and worked in throughout my time with Co-op. Overall, I felt at home working with Cornerstone Co-op.

The daily requirements largely stay the same (apart from inventory days), and as such, it is a very easy job to learn and to perform once you are trained in your varying responsibilities.

Training was relatively lacking when dealing with customers who had questions or complaints; which could result in you bearing the brunt of a customer's frustration despite no wrong-doing of your own.

There's little interaction with the other departments, so be prepared to do the same thing, with the same people, all day, every day. This can get tiring when the job itself is not a rewarding experience, with low pay, and stocking can take a toll on the body when you're doing it all day.

Perfect for a student or someone looking for simple part-time work.

Grocery store management is terrible, does not know how to prioritize tasks. One manager will give you trouble for doing something another manager told you to do, the manager gossips about employees with other employees. The staff literally sit in the back or take extra break with NO repercussions while they give the hard working employees trouble for not getting everything done by themselves. Work life balance doesn’t exist, they expect you to put work first before EVERYTHING (At one point I was staying late every day and working my days off AND GETTING TOLD I NEED TO PUT IN MORE OVERTIME!) Worst job I’ve ever had!!

I would start in the morning by unloading trucks, once that was done  I would do the dairy orders. I would then organize, put out products, and  help customers. I learned how to manage time well and interact with customers to always leave them well informed and satisfied with the products. The management was not the best, I would often see people slacking off with no repercussions. The workplace culture was good, the people were very nice. unloading the trucks in the morning was probably the hardest and most dangerous part of the job. Interacting with customers was the best part of the job.

Working in the deli department for the past 6 months has taught me some new valuable skills. I enjoy working with my coworkers. Sometimes during the closing shift it can be difficult to serve customers while doing the clean up. Especially since there's only 2 people or you're alone. But I always manage. And apologize to customers if they end up having a short wait. My manager is one of the best. Highly knowledgeable about all aspects of our department. I couldn't ask for a better team to work with. Manager, supervisor, and coworkers included.

The nice people to work with, management are awesome and the benefits is awesome

When there is call and sick and no body came into work for that shift

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
It's like you are at home working. 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Monday to Friday, weekdays are good day to work

- A typical day for a student would be from 4-9, and then they would work on weekends for 8 or 4 hours. They could either start at 8, 9, 10, 12, or 4. 
- There are many places to work. Theres the deli, bakery, warehouse, cashier, and produce. 
- Management is okay.
- Hardest part of the job was getting along with people (some times)
- Most enjoyable was having fun with everyone at work

Management delegated their work onto other employees to the point that we couldn’t get our own job descriptions finished in a reasonable time. Very stressful work atmosphere. Manipulation and favouritism from management. 
Management doesn’t care about your family and you probably will not get requested days off. 



I learned lots of things. I got the chance to improve my customer service and time management. The hardest part of the job is serving the customers while cleaning lots of stuffs especially there are only 2 people closing at night. The most enjoyable part of the job is free tastes of everything!
