Great product and well run organization. They care about their product. Your whole experience there though revolves around putting in unfair work hours...10-14 hour workdays and weekends plus no holiday time off. Your evenings and social life is near non existent. They pay fair but not great. They harbor professional jealousy in some respects and don't fully appreciate the value of a great employee. It's strange. Their great aspects are good though and they are decent people and friends. They run a highly organized business. They're very intelligent and far sighted. Overall, recommended but be cautious about advancement being a slow grind.

Cortina Kitchens is celebrating it's 25th year in Business! The company manufacturers kitchens for the construction and new homes industry within the Ontario market in addition to the retail and renovation private sector. Cortina owes 100% of all it's success to the plant and office employees who work extremely hard. Like most jobs, there will always be some aspect of difficulties to overcome.....but in the end, having management and employees on the same side, working together to improve and continue the growth of Cortina and personal growth of it's employees, both striving for excellence, is our primary objective.

Most enjoyable part of job: Change Management. Working with team leads and staff. Improving productivity and accountability through employee engagement of all staff.  Streamlining processes. Helping business grow.
Good learning experience with a lot of responsibility in all Workplace Safety, HR Management and Business Management areas.
Mostly positive work culture. 
Busy environment with work-life balance challenges in some roles.

Although you may be a sub-contractor they require you to work 5-6 sometimes 7 days per week. However they cover all the pesky small things of being a sub like liability insurance WHMIS and etc. Typical day is you get your work order, travel to site, sign in and begin. Without question you'll be the authority on the job you're doing since what you're doing is the final product so anything you need to change the site will take care of. Do not let that get to your head. we are all replaceable.

Is not the best place to work and get promoted they try to put pressure on until they get the maximum , they are trying to not pay you overtime even if you work extra hours they don’t care about your efforts and they don’t appreciate your work what ever you do 
Long hours work 
No life balance 

Vacuum, sweep and polishing large wood work machinery with little supervision. Here I learned to be independent and built a strong work ethic as discipline is required for this very physically demanding to be successful at this organization.

Cortina Kitchens is a very good place for a job. Working here shows me discipline and hard work. The coworkers are very nice and hard working. They always will help if you need it and they have your back depending on the people you meet.

it was too uptight, i like a humble and easy out going work environment, it just was not there. Thats the main reason i left, Everyones to uptight, and the management team needs to be replaced

enjoyed working at this company, many hard workers, everyone got along, everyone used good team work skills to get the job done!

poor management, no room for promotion, staff did not communicate with one another. Unsafe environment. did not like it
