It use to be a great place to work but those days are over. The manager and director of op’s lie constantly and have completely ruined the moral of this company. They have no experience and have no clue of what is truly going on. The owners really need to chat with all of us workers about how bad management truly is….without any repercussions like some recent employees that were laid off. The manager does not have the skills and experience on how to run these sites.  The foreman’s also need to do a course on separating home and work friendships with employees. There is a lot of favoriting and this makes for a very toxic workplace environment. There is also a good handful of entitled attitude employees. These employees believe that they have an automatic right to privileged treatment at work from their coworkers and leadership. This all leads back to the foreman who are friends with these workers, and poor inexperienced management that constantly lies and has no backbone. A lot of us are now looking for new jobs because we feel they are going to lose the contract. It’s very sad that the owners have not seen how truly bad this company has become due to management and directors. They need to assess, evaluate, and layoff the people that are  truly causing this company to fail. Which are management and directors. I enjoy my job here and have built an amazing relationship with our client but we are all tired of what’s going on. 

I was terminated from cougar fuels at suncor baseplant and was told it was before my three months which was within days away so all they could say was I was not a good fit for the job which I seen them do to multiple people during my time there and that’s all they would tell me. I don’t believe this to be true I really wanted to succeed at this job i followed all the rules did my job exactly how I was shown followed all the rules (which not many of the current employees do) paperwork was always neat and done properly I even asked Every so often how I was doing and was told I was doing great if there was any issues they would let me know and never once did anyone bring up any issues I feel it is not a place for anyone to work that has anything to loose it’s to big of a risk more of a job for someone who doesn’t care about there future or a job for someone who doesn’t care who they work for I feel it’s poor management hard to believe suncor doesn’t look into this company closer they would not be impressed

Lacks good communication between leaders and workers. Leaders (a few not all) give preferential treatment to certain workers. It’s like favouritism  Too much of workers hanging out in leader office.  Certain dispatches are ignorant. Arrogant Foreman. Overreacting lead. Equipment often malfunctions. 

Overall hard to work for place at the camp location (s)

There is a click group and new seasonal hires are treated differently like lower 

 One big improvement needed that will also help the company is: Get a proper trainer to train the new hires. They put new hires with other workers who refuse to train them. 


The last two yrs have been a great transition from Military to civilian life. The company has given me an opportunity to use my military supervisor and training skills to help mentor and train new employees on equipment and mining operations.

I am currently living and working in Alberta enjoying the west with some family. we have new grand kids in the Ottawa area, we are always open to new opportunities to someday retire closer to Ottawa or southern ON.

What is the best part of working at the company?
7 days on 7 days off. Very physical work!!

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Having to do areas your not familiar with. 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Some of the co workers were ok. Some of the team leads were ok. Some of the foremen were ok. 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Very busy from the time you get there until you leave. Very fast paced.

Deliver oil and other Petro-Canada products to customers. Some customers were hours away.
Make sure all card-lock gas & diesel pumps were operating correctly
Maintain card-lock
Aid any customers that have questions or need help.
Co-workers were awesome and my supervisors always helped if i had a question.
The hardest part about he job was when its -40 degrees and something breaks and i have to fix it.
Best part of the job was doing the lube runs to rigs.

Working here is good, but I wish management would support us more. It would help if they communicated better, recognized our efforts, and provided more training opportunities. Also, listening to our concerns, helping us balance work and life, solving problems, and giving us the right tools would make a big difference. When management supports us, we all succeed – I feel valued, and the company does better.

Excellent work/life  balance. Great pay and benefits. Keep your head out of politics as everywhere   Safety is never compromised. Management will accommodate you in all situations. Family given priority. I love this place   Only thing challenging is working in extreme weather but the pay and benefits compensate for that. 

This company cares about its employees and their well being.
Their rotation at the present time is 14/7
Management is very open with the employees
Safety bonuses are very obtainable as a unit

No job security.  Management is very dishonest.  Different rules for everyone.  Everyone treated differently.  Termination without notice or coaching.  They are the highest contractor wages because it’s the only way they can keep employees.  7/7 schedule is great work life balance but the drama and poor management isn’t worth it.  Work for less somewhere else and be happier.
