Country Meadows Home Care

I have worked as a health care aid where I have to deal with the patient's and resident's activities of daily living. I have basically applied my knowledge and skills in nursing. From basic assessments, providing care, standing as their advocate, I was able to give them the best nursing care I could ever give. I have loved my job as a health care aide since this is actually related to my chosen field - Nursing. The environment was pretty new to me since we don't really have nursing homes back in the Philippines. However, I was able to keep myself adjusted to the place where I worked. I took time to learn how to manipulate the tools and equipments which I was not really familiar of using. I also took time to study about the culture, norms and standards of care here in Canada so I could provide the best and appropriate care for the residents. The hardest part of the job was to manage the time on providing equal care to 20 residents. However, with the help of a partner and a nurse, we were more often than not, able to comply with everything that are supposed to be done in a day. The thing that I enjoyed the most when it comes to this type of job was the interactions with the residents as I do learn from them as well. It makes me really glad to see myself as an aid to the residents' recovery and care provision.

They have just replaced the management team at Country Meadows and it was the worst thing they could have ever done! The Administrator and Director of Care were supportive of the employees, loved the residents and took pride in what the facility had become. The new manager has no problem yelling at staff and doesn't have a clue of what he is doing. I would be surprised if he knew what RHRA even stands for! I feel sorry most of all for the residents. Not sure who will take care of them now?

Would not recommend you to even apply here. They treat their employees terrible and rip you off on every pay cheque. Change hours and job duties without notifying employees and have no regard for family life or personal situations that arise.

The residents at the home are great for the most part, but the management staff are incompetent, rude and unprofessional. Not supportive of furthering your education and not supportive in a crisis situation. Building is also unsafe (no emergency lights) and being a lone staff on shift in the building with residents is unsafe and nerve wracking.

Country Meadows provided me with opportunities in a variety of areas, allowing me to gain more experience in a work environment. The management and my co-workers were all incredibly helpful and approachable, making my time at Country Meadows an enjoyable experience.

The Residents that are living there are great! 
The management staff literally had no clue what they're doing, the one owner doesn't have any credentials to be a manager at the Residence.

The management are very supportive of their staff and always thank their staff for a job well done. The residents are caring, loving people.  This is the best place I can say I have ever worked!

I like the way people appreciate each other for good job done and how people carefully corect you if necessary. Your character and skills will be edified.

it was a great place to work, but the management sucked after the new administerator was hired. He has no respect for his staff or for the residents. But the job itself was great

The staff always work as a team at Country Meadows and are a great family to be a part of.  Management provide a great learning environment and provide staff with all that they need for a job well done.
