Covenant Care

It is a very good experience working with seniors as they are very friendly,
I had to take care of phone calls, office supplies, entering computer information, reservations, meals menu, activities with the residents, organizing events, office clerk, organizing files, photocopies, respond to emails, fax, scanning documents, multitask, cash back from the store, receive general payments from residents and visitor, take messages for the  office Manager, schedule the meetings and make sure that the place and needs are available for it, make the schedules for the staff on a monthly basis, write down the minutes at the meetings, coordinate with the kitchen about Events.

This facility would be great, if they had a proper staff to resident ratio ( 2 HCA's for 40 residents, 1 LPN for 40 residents- LPN duties were to give meds to all the residents, wound care, processing Dr. orders and completing fall assessments, only to name a few. If they gave their supervisors the tool to do their jobs effectively (phones, desk tops, I had to use my personal phone to get a hold of the site Dr.s, and use it to communicate with my co-worker). Whenever I brought up issues with the staffing ratios, was always told it isn't in the budget. Since when does resident/staff safety take a back seat to $$$.

I took the position, worked for the company for 4 days. Immediately there were red flags. The person training me had less experience than I. Their procedures are very dated. Employees constantly coming in claiming they were paid incorrectly, wrong wage, wrong hours. I decided it was not the place for me. It took 1 month and countless emails to get paid from them, with 3 different pay days promised before being followed through. 
Manger seemed very nice, however you couldn’t pay me (or not in their case) to stay at that location. 

Bullies run rampant they basicslly run the place management is a joke no one is held accountable for anything. Back stabbing is the normal behavior of everyone. Thete is not one real person working there everyone is more concerned about everyone elses bussiness they forget they are being paid to work not spread false rumors and bully everyone in sight.

The staff at our facility are wonderful and work well together as a team. the management is wonderful and supportive and understanding.were are like family we help each other thought everything at work as a team. covenant care is different from another facility. our memory care is Amazing we have a program call butterfly. we use center care and more fellings to understand our residents. I'm very happy and grateful for being here and working with my residents and serving with compassion at covenant care

As admin, the hardest part of the job was working overtime just to get things done. Also, there was no backup person who could fill in for me, so I couldn't take more than 3 days off. Learned from other Covenant sites that the scheduler/ payroll admin just learns to work while on holidays. What kind of holiday is that? I could also see that there was very little support for the staff who were caring for the residents. Almost no feeling of stability in the building.

Villa Marie is a new facility where people are doing their best to make difference in other people's lives. The most rewarding part of the day for me is when seniors with memory loss tell me they missed me and also when they tell me that after I've done something for them, they feel much better. The hardest part is to loose resident's. My co-workers, as well as managers, are determined to make a change and support our clients and their families in every possible way.

When we were short staff , was difficult to manage

Was just like second home for me

Passing medication, doing procedure. Rounds with doctor, processing Dr’s order, etc

The residents, staff and family

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Too many managers, that don’t communicate with staff.  There is a divide between staff and management  due to being short staffed and scheduling 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
It is toxic, sometimes harassing and bullying noted

Hours aren’t that bad, people seem friendly at first but everyone talks behind the residents and the employees backs, benefits are good if you can last but the job is a stressful and fast paced environment. The worse thing about the job is the management, don’t feel awful that you made a mistake because the managers make plenty and they’ll be a lot worse than your mistake.
