A typical day at Craftsman Collision is fast-paced and customer-focused. What I Believe I Learned
Working at Craftsman has strengthened my customer service, communication, and organizational skills. I have also gained a better understanding of collision repair operations, insurance processes, teamwork, and the importance of delivering a positive customer experience during what can be a stressful time for customers.

Management
Management is supportive and approachable. Leaders are generally willing to answer questions, provide guidance, and help employees succeed. I appreciate the opportunities for growth and the trust placed in team members to take ownership of their responsibilities.

Workplace Culture
The workplace culture is collaborative and team-oriented. Employees work together to support one another and achieve common goals. There is a strong focus on customer satisfaction, professionalism, safety, and continuous improvement.

The Hardest Part of the Job
The most challenging aspect of the job is balancing multiple priorities while ensuring customers receive timely updates and excellent service. Managing expectations during busy periods can be demanding but also helps build resilience and problem-solving skills.
The Most Enjoyable Part of the Job
The most enjoyable part of the job is helping customers through the repair process and seeing their satisfaction when their vehicle is returned. I also enjoy working with supportive colleagues and being part of a team that takes pride in delivering quality work and excellent service.

This is the worst job I've ever had. The entire company is short staffed, and there is no consistency in processes between the individual shops. Each shop does things according to the manager, which makes it impossible to learn your job duties properly. Most employees are doing the jobs of 2-4 people and are not compensated accordingly. Bonuses are dependant on overall store performance, which means if you are severely short staffed, or has a manager who doesn't care about the store's performance ranking, you'll never see that bonus. They also offer a referral bonus, but that money would be better invested in proper recruiting and training purposes. No overtime pay unless it's approved by the manager (it never is) even if you did work the overtime hours. It seems like they have a lot of employee turnover. The whole company seems to be run by people who have no clue what they are doing. I've never seen such an inefficient way of doing accounting and payables, especially not in the 2020s. The customers are terrible, it's impossible to learn your job, I wouldn't bother applying until they stop expanding and instead reinvest in their current stores and employees.

I find my peers I work with to be respectful, strive for excellence on a daily basis, honest, great sense of humor, and kind. As far as the leadership team they are reliable, show kindness, are passionate, have a lot of experience and knowledge in the field, and truly believe in building a collaborative team throughout the organization. I have a lot of autonomy in my job, as well as the opportunity to advance my skills with training and education programs paid for by the company. What makes me most happy at work is I get to tackle new challenges and opportunities every day. It is a family-run company and they truly do value each and every one of its employees. There are a lot of opportunities for advancement at the shop level for individuals and the company makes it a priority to promote from within. Been here for 10+ years and I can't imagine being anywhere else!

This company is a joke. Bad workmanship with zero accountability. Concerns fall on deaf ears. Extremely stressful day to day with no support from leadership. 
Gaslighting and bold face lies are a common occurrence. 
I'm embarrassed to say I work here. Be better craftsman. They way you preach about family and caring about your employees, remains to be seen. Start by listening to the people who run the shops while you are away at managers meetings using the same , oh so tight, budget to party it up at the expense of what should be staff raises instead.  It is beyond frustrating to hear about these all expense paid party "meetings" while in the same breath being told the budget won't allow for a raise. 
I have said all this to management about how I feel and they haven't changed a single thing in 4 years so posting this will only help ppl considering working here. DONT APPLY, THEY WON'T VALUE YOU UNLESS YOU'RE MANAGEMENT.  


Shop is a total dump, manager is a control freak, co-workers will talk about you behind your back, annoying teardown system where they take an absurd amount of time from your jobs and then the job still needs a supplement. 

“Bonus” pay structure just allows them to pay you less when your hours aren’t good. 

The environment was chill when I started but then management changed up and it got worse immediately. Craftsman will pitch this whole thing about why they’re different and how they take such good care of their employees but they’re just a typical big chain shop. You are a number.

Manager will lie to you, gaslight you, make promises and not keep them etc.

If you are a fat, alcoholic, miserable loser who hates their family and all you want to do is work 7 days a week you’ll fit right in. 

Although this company has been around for a long time, i find it fitting to compare it a cockroach in that it has some strange ability despite being awful to survive the test of time. The wages are terrible and the president is always trying to justify scenarios when you technically should be making less based on other markets so it looks like your garbage wage is actually someone doing you a favor. the working hours are not ideal, the dress code sucks. they seem to publicly worship their worst staff members and pay no mind to those that work hard and try to succeed, in other words just be really bad at your job and you'll likely obtain a prestigious position among the top echelon. As the title suggests you'd better off as a barista with a company discount. 

As a body tech, you're going to make average money, but you're never going to make hours unless you have some deal under the table.  They pay below average journeyman wages but attract you with bonuses that you'll hit once in awhile if you work at a busy location, but they'll hire more technicians as soon as you hit bonuses often.  They also knock off 4 hours every month of your pay cheque for breakage.  Management is overworked and has no power to make any meaningful changes to how things are run.  This company's upper management has gone corporate and growing too big...as in they gotta line their pockets first with the cars you fix.  Garbage rolls downhill and your manager will be blamed for things that are beyond their reach.

10 years ago I’d have an answer. Lately not sure, other companies offer the same things with more pay

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Unrealistic goals and underpaid for deadline expectations. The managers and operations managers need proper training and more assistance.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Stressful with new guidelines and expectations from manufactures. Can be months or years before tools or maintenance is approved by Craftsmans chain of command. Too many useless positions within the company. 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Problem solving usually and insults or being talked down to from the manager

This company has plenty of perks, in above average dollar per hour, bonus structure, and company paid benefits and plenty of promises. That's where it ends. Management is constantly making poor decisions in regards to growth,  shop function, and who they promote into management. Most of the personnel being placed in leadership roles has little to no experience, and it shows in the way the culture at each shop is cultivated. Brutal insurance relationships, and even worse with their own employees makes this company very frustrating to work for. Unsteady work flow, high stress, and fluctuating pay is the result. Qualified people generally choose to work elsewhere after a short period of trying this company out. Save yourself the struggle, and avoid it to begin with.
