Minimum wage = minimum work. But they expect more. They are constantly short staffed which means a larger strain on the existing staff. All departments are understaffed and the staff that are there only get paid minimum wage so quite often they don't care about their job. Front desk are expected to stand for 8 hrs. Because they are short staffed they don't normally get a break. If they take a break it means they will be leaving their coworker w an angry mob of guests so they usually don't take their break. Because management is overworked or inefficient they don't have time to train you so it's "sink or swim". You get trained by your co-workers. But most the time you are just "winging" it. It is a Time Share Resort and guests are quite often not happy w the hotel and take it out on the front desk staff. The free perks that staff get are nice. Free golf, discount restaurants etc however most employees are so sick of the place by the time they get a day off they don't want to spend their day off at the resort.

able to work independently and alone in the laundry room in the evenings and that was the most enjoyable part of the job but the least enjoyable part of the job was being interrupted to go and clean rooms unexpectedly.  I learned that people in general expected me to socialize more than I cared to do but I was afraid of possible conflict and lack of self actualization due to competition and personality clashes and the found the management team slightly aloof thinking they are better than others and disappointed that workers and management were from foreign countries and I being a White Canadian didn't seem to have the same degree of success or opportunity and foreigners.

The Chefs were super friendly. Always willing to teach me things when I didn't know and tested me on what I knew and was taught by them. They were very understanding and supportive helping my learn everything required to pass my Red Seal. However this was 4 years ago.

Most work days would require you to be on your toes, however, some days when the weather isn't great, rather than employers expecting you to clean the corners of each room to ensure cleanliness, they allow you to relax and socialize with guests and co-workers.

The Recreation department is a fun and positive place to work.  Both the lifeguards and the rec attendants have a great time at work interacting with guests. Management is fair and a good listener. The team is close and we all work well together.

They watch whatever you are doing with security cameras. Not a comfortable environment to work in. Management does nothing with any concerns you go to them with. They have a very controlling H.R. person who no one likes. Lots of heavy lifting.

I started at 1pm everyday and it started off folding towels bagging them and getting them bagged and back to their separate unit. It was a lot of repetitious things all day. I enjoyed it as i could work at my own place and go as i needed to. i worked unsupervised at nights.

Loved working here. It felt like a well oiled machine here. In a great area of Ontario with lots of great activities. The staff were treated fair and the executives were always willing to help anywhere needed.
Cranberry has great community involvement.

All of the team members were great to work with. The company made false promises to all employees that work place functions would improve. Team members constantly changed because management pushed people away.
