I've worked here since 2009. I came in when the company had just gotten its first office space and have grown with the company to the CFO position. I've seen the company go through many changes and it remains a positive and forward thinking place to work. 

During my tenure, I have been able to reinvent the finance team, introduce new technologies, move the team from in-office to work-from-home, and take on new and increasingly interesting and challenging projects. All of this was done while maintaining a great work-life balance. 

The owner is easily accessible and always open to new ideas. He is an industry insider and can predict the next-big-thing making change in the company commonplace. 

I left the company for a brief period, only to return 2 years later as I found that while not always perfect, the benefits far outweigh the negatives. I highly recommend Crawford Technologies as a place to work.


Crawford Technologies is truly like a large family. Its management treats each of its employees like a family member, and very accommodating when an employee has a need to shuffle work hours to take care of his/her own family. Though all core values of this company are important, I feel honesty and innovation are front and center at Crawford Technologies. Honesty glues all members of this company into close knit family; the drive for innovation makes the employees at Crawford Technologies ready to help other members whenever someone needs help or a brainstorming session for ideas.

The one outstanding thing in the relationship with the company is the respect and loyalty the company shows toward its employees - very unusual and remarkable, in this day and age. The company's willingness to work with employees to accommodate personal requests is also a standout. Although the company is growing and has doubled in size over the last few years, it still retains the kind of collegial culture and environment that makes working for a private company attractive.

The people I deal with are almost all helpful, willing to learn, and willing to teach or explain to others.  Most are personable and meetings often have a good interpersonal component while discussing issues or reviewing suggestions. The work ethic is very strong. Considering how hectic things can be, this is pretty amazing. Our customers are also often easy to work with and form relationships with.  I enjoy constantly learning new things - data, processes, our software or operating systems.

My professional beliefs and aspirations align with most of our core values. As I am fairly new with the organization, it's great to see a positive company culture that impacts on overall job satisfaction. 
Crawford's ethical practices, and opportunities for growth and collaboration give me peace of mind and a sense of pride in my work.

Communication is a problem at this company.

There is not much structure to how things are done and they have a culture of punishing mistakes made by new employees. The technical lead on projects cuts himself off from his staff, leading to long investigations on issues, making collaboration difficult, or non-existent.

Communication in English is a weakness.

I feel like I can ask anyone in the company any question I'd like an answer to. It's reassuring that management is open and accessible. 
I feel that the work I do is appreciated and supported by the people I work with. 
I appreciate that co-workers and managers are more interested in getting work done, than where and when work gets done.

I really like the people and team. I like how they value a work life balance. Different teams work together well and communicate effectively. I like how transparent Ernie is about our goals and gives openness in our all hands meetings. It is nice to know we all play a part in achieving these goals.

I value the work that we do and the community we serve. I value my colleagues for being so easy to work with and making the hard days better. I feel very fortunate to have this job and all the experiences that come with it - especially because good jobs are hard to find in such a rural area like Potsdam.
