Completely enjoyed my job. Loved every minute of it. Everyday I learned something new. Never boring and always fun! Working on a team for the area of Saskatchewan and Manitoba. Learning the different regulations of each province was interesting to see from this view. I was responsible for all taxes due on all properties our company had. The management gave great direction and was always helpful. I love a challenge and as my weakness, this was also the most difficult part of my job. A lot of issues that needed resolving sometimes quickly other times very slowly. It took getting used to the time sensitive matters of each. I worked along with accounting. I enjoyed making each process run as smoothly as I could. I communicated problems and opened myself up to new ideas and changed systems in order to have an error free process happen.

CPG is forsure a company going through a transition.  The entire leadership team is new and while they will be excellent, they are going through some growing pains.  The culture is still very good, but not what it once was.  It used to be a social, friendly, positive, and one for all type company, but this has changed.  There was a lot of effort put into developing relationships between staff throughout the company but the new head of HR has changed all that.  There is now a culture of fear and lack of trust.
Hopefully the company will regain the excellent reputation that it once had, and again be a great place to work and that people are proud of.  Right now people are mostly just happy to have a job.

I had always great support from management to come up with solutions and ideas for improving the production and maintainance of my compressors, oil and gas wells and my process facilities.

I was given raises and was rewarded for the improvements I made in the field

I learned to work as a team.

Hardest part was working in the cold in a late callout and having to deal with a dump line freezing and a compressor shutting down.

The independence was the most enjoyable part of the job.  I did my best to be proactive and also communicated with my cross-shift, and that led to me getting much responsibility for my field.

What is the best part of working at the company?
The people hands down and the trust from team members and leadership to try new ideas and improve processes. 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
High workload. Because the teams are so lean, it can be a challenge to maintain work life balance. 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Very friendly, social, fun culture. The people work very hard and also make time to have fun. 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Meetings, team connects, working on projects, improvements to process.

Day to day responsibilities at Crescent Point Included tracking and analyzing well production, costs, and cycle times, preparing and submitting regulatory reports and applications, and creating well/facility/location maps. I also had the opportunity to work on several large projects, one of which I presented to the VP of engineering and other executives. I loved the freedom I was given to make my own creative solutions to problems, even as an intern.

Crescent has somehow found a way to develop into a large company yet still maintain the corporate culture of a smaller, "tight-knit" organization. I truly call these people my family. 

One thing I do not like is the lack of benefits and minimal pay for contract employees and the fact that almost half of their workforce is employed on a contract basis. However, it is the current hiring trend of the industry...

CPG has great amenities and an inclusive supportive development culture. Access to executives, excellent forecasting processes give confidence the operations are being managed profitably. In house gym and bistro ensure access to fitness facilities on a timely basis and each morning starts off with a healthy breakfast.

Good place to work especially for someone young and newly graduated from school as it has an excellent Summer Student and Internship program. Lots of perks for employees like fully equipped gym, daily breakfast buffet and summer and winter designated days out. Management promotes cross training and education and promotes from within.

Every morning there is free breakfast offered. This is used as team bonding type experience. The mentality of the workplace is very hard working, but at the same time when there's downtime it's a play hard type of scenario. Everyone is required to carry their own weight and join in, in company activities and events. Management is great. They really try to get to know you and develop you as a person and as a employee.

I am currently only in a transition position at Crescent Point; they purchased Legacy Oil + Gas Inc.  My responsibilities right now with Crescent is to transition all the Legacy Joint Venture Agreements into Crescents computer program & filing system.

The employees here are all amazing, hard working and very team focused.
