Avoid this company at all costs, no matter how desperate you are. 

At no point will you be valued as an individual, nor your opinion or expertise, and you will often find yourself at odds with management over the simplest tasks. Should you at any point confront them on the things they do not know, they will condescendingly attack you so you know your place. You will be yelled at and put down often. No HR so have fun with that.

An organizational nightmare, rarely will deadlines be met or will teams communicate properly to each other.

For the most part, the staff is underdeveloped and lacking training. If you're looking to learn valuable skills, look elsewhere. Under no scenario will you be encouraged to think outside the box and apply yourself. The way things are done are the way things are done so don't bother suggesting otherwise unless you're looking to get chastised in front of your team. 

Staff turnover has been the highest I've seen anywhere, people fired based on the whims of the newest appointed manager without any plan for how their work will be covered (usually resulting in you having to step up on top of the many jobs you are already doing). Many have quit and some without a back-up plan or other job lined up because that's just a more pleasant alternative. 

Any ideas you have that are helpful will be criticized until a later date where the person you told them to suddenly thinks of the idea on their own and it's then amazing.

There are very few managers who actually care about you, see any value you can provide, and want you to succeed here. 

Every concern raised is a personal insult to those above you. Expect your character to be questioned frequently.

Where to begin

The pay is below average, and only becoming average or above when you threaten to quit and they know they have undervalued you as an employee(they seem shocked you know this too...). This will often result in a significant increase in salary. However this only comes up when you are in a position of negotiation, example having written obscure code that is unable to be managed by someone else.

The work is challenging because it is a small company so you are constantly having to test your mettle. However this also means there is little to no support from management or staff around you. This backfires to some employees resulting in mistrust from management and potentially termination. Horrid learning environment.

A significant part of the management rules with an emotional mentality. If you are their friend, you get everything you want. You will get promotions, training, school etc. If you are not, you get nothing and are often discouraged and many indirectly encouraged to seek new employment. It's a toxic environment for those hard working as you will be treated with skepticism and mistrust even though you can prove your worth. 

Co-workers are great. Incredibly friendly bunch of people, open and willing to literally, be your friend. Birthdays are celebrated at employees expense and team lunches out are encouraged between teams. They are literally the backbone of this company. They make people feel warm and welcome and helpful.

We were a outsource company that created, digital images, or microfilmed records for archival storage.
On a daily basis I would find out what clients records I would be working on. Read the requirements for that particular client and proceed from there. I would sometimes be assigned new clients and do samples showing different ways they could format their records and then waiting for their approval. At that point I would record the format require and start the work.

Every client was different in the way they keep their records, so I would be consonantly learning the different formats of their records.

This company, in the time I worked there was sold three times. Some Management was very organized others were not. In all three companies I was involved in testing and setting up the formats for scanning the clients documents.

For the most part I have always went out of my way to get along with everyone I worked with. I had no problem helping or showing people what was required for a particular job and was often called upon to teach others.

We would get clients records for a test, set everything up, and then when the live work came in it did not always match the records they sent for the test. So we would have to adjust the requirements before starting the job.

The part I enjoyed about this job was the following: Problem solving, diversity, seeing what I accomplished at the end of each day.

For the most part I worked well with others. When there was any misunderstanding I would always try to resolve the problem with communication first then by seeking HR resource to help. I am always willing to hear other co-workers ideas when dealing with the work at hand.
I found the hardest part (only sometimes) was when we would get a new client,management would not relate all the information needed to complete the job at required by the client.So I would have to re-do some of the work.
I found the most enjoyable part was seeing what I or the team I was working with finish the project.

The first project I worked on, I was hired as a typist. I however made my way up to Assistant Supervisor and eventually ran the project to the end. While I moved up, I made sure that I knew all the jobs to run the project. My way of thinking was just in case their was missing staff, I could fill in.

My next project I was asked by the Operations Manager and Floor Manager to run the project. But there was co-workers who thought I wasn't fit for the job. That made the job a little more difficult, but I did my best. I always made sure my reports and spreadsheets were handed in on time. And the project was running smoothly.

Hardest part of the job was battling with my own co-workers. I always had to defend myself as they thought I wasn't right for the job.

The most enjoyable part of my job was learning new jobs as I went along in the five years I worked there. I was always willing to learn. I would go see my Floor Manager and ask if I could learn the job. And my co-workers, the ones that I enjoyed working with made the job fun.

Going into the office at Critical Control is an absolute delight because of the adorable dog that roams around, brightening everyone's day. This furry little companion is not just cute but also brings a sense of joy and relaxation to the workplace. Every morning, being greeted by its wagging tail and playful antics makes the start of the day so much more pleasant. The presence of this lovable dog creates a warm, welcoming atmosphere that sets the tone for a positive and productive day.

The daily interactions with this awesome dog make every day at the office a pleasure. Whether it's taking a short break to pet and play with it or simply watching its amusing behavior, the dog's presence provides a much-needed break from work stress. It's incredible how such a small creature can have such a big impact on the overall mood and morale of the team. The camaraderie it fosters among colleagues is invaluable, making Critical Control not just a place of work, but a place of genuine enjoyment and happiness.

A typical day is waking up and dreading another day of work. Prepare to be constantly demoralized and insulted by the upper management. If you love to be micromanaged then this is the job for you. Humiliated in front of your colleagues happens weekly. The turn over is insane but management blames it on everything but the toxic environment they have created.  

There is no training. You are supposed to figure it out on your own and then when you do ask a question, you are chastised. Hearing management yell and curse at people is a totally normal incident to see and experience. 

No one with have a brain stays at this company. Critical Control would be successful if the board had put their egos aside and trusted all the highly talented people they have run off. What matrix are they currently using to measure success? It’s not based on employee retention.  They tear people down instead of building them up. 





Poor communication and an issue with training which was not formal and done on job by poor communicators that were not official trianers.

I learned to do my own research and be involved with associations and network to get the most out of my position to learn the industry.

Management provided mixed messages when and if they communicated with you. Most things you found out through the grapevine. The constant aquisions of companies kept the culture changing which was refreshing and frustrating at the same time.

Systems not working properly would be the toughest part of the job as it is nice to have the tools to do your job well.

The staff was close and was like family. I loved my relationships with my clients as we worked together towards our common goal. Quick efficient data delivery.

There are some great people that work at the company, but overall it seems like everyone just tries their best to stay quiet and hidden from management.  No culture, departments don’t communicate.  People stick around because they can work from home and just kinda cruise by and collect a paycheck if you can stay off of managements radar.  Don’t plan on scrutinizing any departmental strategies to make anything better.  Management just sets up a plan every other week and fumbles their way with little to no effective communication on implementing it. I sincerely wish them the best, but if would serve management well to get a consultant in there to give them some high level corporate direction.

I would get there at 8 A.M. and sometimes earlier, talk to my boss and get the day started. The first few days was training which I was able to catch on very quickly, it was a combination of organizing files, scanning and printing specific data, sending emails, preparing invoices, and working on expense reports. Management was friendly and helpful and so were my co-workers. I would say that the hardest part of the job was filing and separating for AR and AP which proved to be very manageable after a day or two. The most enjoyable part of the job is finishing all the work prepared for the day and being organized.
