Most unprofessional work environment I’ve ever encountered. Through the few months I’ve worked here, it felt like high school all over again (co-workers and management play a role in to this). Ex) gossiping, backstabbing, etc. As I am a full time university student, I prioritized this job juggling all of my assignments/projects/readings especially during the busy holidays. Scheduling was horrific, alternating openings shifts one week then to closing late shifts during my final exam weeks (Christmas holiday). Like I said, I prioritized this job and would commute through three feet of snow to make it in time for my 6am shift and worked 10pm shifts (would have to skip my classes for these shifts). As the new year came up, I was let go by phone call. I was very upset by this as I reflect back and committed to work many shifts during the busy holiday season so people could spent time with their families and for me to work alone. It was a slap in the face how unprofessional they handled this situation. 
When I look back to the positives of this job there was one manager that made my experience working there better (they were hired around the same time as myself). Also the regular guests were super sweet as well. 

Day to day is busy for both line and prep operations. 

Great benefits and good coworkers. There are many shifts in management, which makes advancement and consistency difficult to deal with but I have learned to work and adapt to many different chefs, sous chefs and line workers.

Hardest part of the job is dealing with employees who don't necessarily have a natural ability at working in kitchens and who don't necessarily have as high of a standard as some who have had professional training and natural affinity. 

I enjoy the challenges that the job presents, the many areas of the kitchen that it is possible to work in, be it prep, line work or banquets.

I thoroughly enjoyed the interaction with customers and the other aspects of the job. Makes good money with tips! (made closer to 23 dollars per hour with tips). However, the job had really poor management for a time where there were conflicts of interest between employees and bosses. There was a change in management which did improve a lot and that's why I would recommend this job. However, there was a really toxic, competitive (and sometimes hostile) environment between some employees. If you can stomach that, the rest of the job is fantastic.

About half my workday was spent outside on the property.  It was a beautiful environment.

I learned more skills by taking over tasks from my supervisor. Ordering, getting quotes and samples, taking over supervising the janitorial staff.

The hardest part of the job was leaving Crown Isle. It wa a great workplace.

I got a huge pleasure working with all the staff members at the Resort.  The family atmosphere was very special.

It is very obvious the entire place needs a revamp; rooms are out of date, departments are understaffed. If you don't work in the upper "clubhouse", you are considered less than everybody else. Worked there for 4 years and was denied a raise past the $13/hr maximum, was one of the more competent and responsible housekeepers on staff

Wonderful staff and a family dynamic with them. Everyone is on the same team and are helpful and supportive of eachother. Management and further up the ladder is not these things. Take into account this was a few years ago and the management is constantly changing. I loved working there but the stress and lack of security was overwhelming at times.

There are some amazing people that work at crown isle. 
However there is absolutely no structural support, no management team, no company training. High turnover for staff and management. Over worked and under paid. 
Hopefully they’ll figure it out in the future because this place has the potential to be a great work environment, but it needs a lot of work to get there

Working in a team, all the team members especially supervisor and the working environment is best

When we are busy and we have ti work non stop 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Friendly, helpful, understanding

The management is really great for front desk and the environment is really fun the ambiance of the lobby is entertaining with parties in the ballroom and people golfing and on vacation it’s great. 

Crown Isle Corporation drove business into ground.  Staff can only do so much for a business.  Crown Isle Corp did nothing for advertising or promotion of business.
