The management is horrible. If you were not in the *in* crowd (which I was not) then you don't get to stay and have a job. 

Being an aide I had to clean my kitchen then I had to clean another kitchen during my shift as well. You have to clean not only your own kitchen but another kitchen as well all in the time frame of your shift. The other aide  does not help you to clean your kitchen. 

Every night for the first 2 weeks I had aches and pains all over my body. I was sooo hot from sweat every night because I was working so hard just to get out of there on time. 

PSWs don't do their job, I was not a PSW and I had to encourage a resident to eat her dinner. 

Another resident was wheeling his wheelchair around the dinning room then got up out of his chair. Looking after resident was not my job I had to hit the emergency call button saying that a resident was walking around when he should have been in the wheelchair. The resident could have fell down and hurt himself, while in the dining room when it was not meal time.  I got into trouble for using the call button. (I wonder what his family would say to that).  

This whistleblower protection is backstabber protection. 

I had to mop every night the kitchen in the basement, as per job description. I did not work in the kitchen in the basement. I worked upstairs. 

Management accused me of breaking something, instead of getting an apology, I got fired. 

I work in an administrative role at Crown Ridge Health Care Services Inc. for several years, and my experience has been very positive. The work–life balance was one of the biggest advantages—management truly respects personal time and makes an effort to create schedules that support a healthy balance between work and home life.

The staff and owners are incredibly supportive, always willing to listen and provide help when needed. They consistently show their appreciation, whether through recognition, small gestures, or staff-appreciation events that make employees feel valued. There is a genuine sense of teamwork, and it’s clear that leadership cares about both employees and residents.

The overall atmosphere is fun, welcoming, and community-focused. I especially enjoyed getting to know the staff across different departments, as well as the residents and their families. Building those relationships was one of the most rewarding parts of the job, and it added a meaningful personal touch to everyday work.

Crown Ridge is a place where people look out for one another, work hard, and still find moments to laugh and enjoy the day. I would highly recommend working here to anyone looking for a positive, supportive environment—especially in an administrative capacity.

I currently work at Crown Ridge Place, and overall my experience has been positive. The environment is clean, organized, and focused on providing excellent resident-centered care. Most team members are supportive, and the management is approachable and helpful, which creates a comfortable place to work.
Overall, I’m proud to work at Crown Ridge Place. Despite a few challenges, the commitment to compassion, teamwork, and resident well-being truly stands out.

Made great money during the beginning of the pandemic, but it was not worth it.

Incredibly toxic coworkers that would rather talk about how bad you are at your job behind your back than offer any sort of advice or direction.

Management that won't look you in the eyes or talk to you like a human being. No support given, no opportunity for advancement, and no idea what anyone's jobs even are. Clueless.

Was not given any formal training on assisting residents with tasks, answering their questions, etc. Yet it took up most of my time and prevented me from completing my job. PSWs that would rather stand there gossiping while you do their job for them. 

Ridiculous expectations with NO support. Don't do it. Work somewhere else.



What is the best part of working at the company?
The pay is fair and competitive within the field.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
You are always short staffed and working alone - a lot of times you’re working your line as well as the support lines that are never filled, so you’re essentially doing 2 jobs. 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
It is hard for new people to break into the cliques that have formed by the long time employees. There’s also very little support from management, especially during the later shifts. There’s usually no one around to take your problems too and very little done once you do. 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Stressful, short staffed, busy. Rarely get to take all your breaks unless they have found someone to cover shifts.

Crown Ridge is the most mismanaged place I have ever seen. No work life balance, huge turnover with nurses and PSWs. So many employees are burnt out. Pay issues are a big problem. Issues with care and other employees are dismissed  with no resolution. All departments work short on a regular basis and they are no longer offering extra shifts or overtime to cover being short staffed, but expectations remain the same. Employees are not treated equally or fairly. Gaslighting is a regular occurrence. Upper management regularly harasses its employee's. So many people off on stress leave. The free parking is a joke. You can not get a parking spot unless you move your car on your break or double park. This is a very toxic environment. 

A typical day at work is organized but never boring- there’s always something happening that keeps me on my toes. I’ve learned how to multitask efficiently, communicate better, and stay calm even when things get a little chaotic. Management is supportive and easy to talk to, which makes a huge difference. The workplace culture feels friendly and team-oriented, where everyone’s trying their best and helping each other out.
The hardest part of the job is definitely managing a bunch of tasks at once during rush hours, but the most enjoyable part is the team energy and those small moments where everything just clicks. It’s the kind of job that teaches you real-life skills while still giving you a few fun memories along the way.

For the first couple of years I loved it. 
Then it turned into a circus. 
Management is certainly the issue. 
I can understand that they want things ran a certain way. When clear expectations are given at any workplace, it makes sense and works.  However.... At Crown Ridge, it's a big head game. 
You are managed and micro managed.  Then you have favoured employees that basically do whatever they want and treat whoever they choose not to like that day terribly. 
It's truly unfortunate how desperate management is for control.  If they would stop acting like private investigators and spend more time supporting their staff, they would have much better results. 
I will say, I did learn a lot from working there.  
The grass is by far much greener on the other side for once lol

A typical day at work is steady and meaningful, with a good balance of routine tasks and positive interactions with residents and coworkers. I learned strong teamwork, communication, and time-management skills, along with the importance of compassionate, person-centered care. Management is supportive and approachable, and the workplace culture is friendly, collaborative, and focused on residents’ well-being. The hardest part of the job is handling busy moments while still giving everyone the attention they need, but the strong teamwork helps. The most enjoyable part is building relationships with residents and knowing the care you provide truly makes a difference.

Used to be fine place to work....number 7 in Ontario for excellence....but now Management have no respect for staff....particularly PSWs and RPNs.  Their attitude is to discipline you at the drop of a hat.  I found most new RN hires were incompetent, but favoritism  and nepotism got them off the hook many times, when they made serious med errors.  Chronic absenteeism was rife....no disciplinary action for regular patterned absenteeism.  Always working short, and blamed for others' shoddy work.  Worst place I have ever worked in my life. Management not to be found after 4:30 PM on Fridays.....their annual bonus was their only concern....not the staff or residents.  One positive.....loved working with residents and most of my colleagues.
