Working at Cunningham Transport is like working in a family. There are good days, and not so good days. The dispatch is well organized and very quick to deal with issues that inevitably arise due to the nature of student transport. Granted, the equipment wasn't the best, but then they were in the process of changing the fleet over to modern buses. If you're interested in becoming a bus driver, the in-house training is one of the best you'll find outside of a school-and Cunningham won't charge you for the course. I would highly recommend them to anyone starting a career in transport, or anyone wanting to wind their careers down.

And for the record, I was laid off due to company restructuring.

If there is a negative it seems the same 5-6 drivers always seem to get the charters when they are called out in the morning over the radio. Also frustrating is when drivers take charters and then radio in to say they are running 20 minutes down when I could have been on time or early. Seems like some drivers just take the charters and could not care less if they are late as long as they get paid. In the end it is the kids that suffer as it cuts into their field trip time. The company needs to do a better job tracking the drivers who accept charters then consistently call in to say they are running late.

The owner is a micro managing nightmare and is extremely unprofessional when she gets upset.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
The people were great the culture was one of fear of managment

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
It was coming in early and leaving early afternoon. The work was fine unless management woke up on the wrong side of the bed

work with a great bunch of people who are very helpful. routes are great and you can pick up extra work. if you want you can work extra hours and weekends, but its not mandatory

Stressfull and too much  favortism

Toxic workplace.Whispering behind everyones back. In parricular, the two support staff in the dispatch office. For a School Bus company they certainly didn't treat Covid-19 rules with enough respect.
Very lacking in proper discipline for drivers.
I gave them a 1 rating because... (.5 ) wasn't available. 

If you like driving in all types of weather and have lots of patients and love children and work part time this company is ok to work for .Other employees are good to work with 

shop atmosphere is decent and most bus operators are pleasant to deal with, but the elderly owner is too involved and micro-manages all positions, which ends up in mixing up employees when directing or reprimanding.. not very professional.

Not a bad place to work at all. Minimal crew (around 3-4 mechanics at south shop). Never seems to be a quiet time, always work to be done.  Wage is a bit on the low side but great work dynamic and environment!


mediocre environment, little room for productive thinkers.  no raises were offered, and they expect mechanics to drive school buses often when drivers arent available.
