They try really hard to maintain a good image - free lunch, modern interior design, allowed (sometimes) to bring your dog to work, hire mostly young people who don't know how to stand up for themselves yet..
 The business is growing fast, but their management is not.  If you are family or chosen as a friend you will love it here - otherwise RUN.

 In my time there I saw multiple employees (long and short term) crying from the stress of the environment there.  Having ever changing demands rammed down your throat while management treats the dogs 10x better than you with a smile. They say they don't play the blame game but they play it extremely well behind the scenes.

They prey on younger less experienced workers and make them great promises that they do not pull through on.  They pay their employees as little as possible and look for any reason to get rid of anyone with a half brain that does not simply keep their head down and do as they are told even when that changes without letting them know. Very poor management, communication and an absolutely Toxic Environment.

The workplace culture is quite fake and clique-y. No room to grow unless you were already close friends with owners or management.

Most of management is made up of the owner's friends who previously worked in restaurants, so there is very little experience on how to run a team. The result is a poorly run office and low morale.

Day-to-day is very routine and monotonous. 

They are quick to fire and lay-off. Pay is pretty low but they do offer benefits.

The perks are a relatively nice office space and dogs in the office.

I recommend working here only if you are entry-level and desperate for a job. They will view you as a commodity so don't bother with any loyalty to the company. Get some experience and get out.


If you have come across this company’s job ad and thought this might be a cool place to work, your instincts are wrong. 

Working here is like being in high school again with drama, cliques who are favoured and incompetent management. If you receive a job offer here because of your talented skills, advancement isn’t an option unless you are friends with someone who already works there. They will pay you less than you are worth and refuse to give raises when it’s deserved.
This is a workplace where the only thing that matters to department managers is numbers and if you don’t put in the extra hours, you get looked down upon. There is an HR department but unfortunately it makes no difference when you have a real work related issue. 

For you sake and well-being, please save yourself the stress and avoid being associated with this company.

Curbex has given me a really big opportunity to work my way up from an entry level job to management. If you show up, work hard, learn about the company/industry and have a positive attitude, you will quickly move up in the company.

The work is really fast paced and your days and months go by quickly! Every day something new is happening, but the team environment makes it feel like you are all in it together. Management is fair and really kind and the owners are still heavily invested in the company, which shows in its growth every year.

Overall, Curbex is a huge and positive aspect of my life and helped me form a lot of new connections with coworkers and clients alike. I feel lucky to have found this company (on Indeed!) in Barrie. Commuting is a reality for a lot of people and this is another huge advantage to having an extra 4 hours everyday not driving to Toronto.

They do not invest in employees full potential. Management consists of family and friends who lack in professionalism, with a lot of favouritism involved. They don't have time to help or train their employees properly. They put a lot of pressure on their employees, especially their custom installers. Organization lacks greatly and there are many loop holes in communication. The demand from their employees is quite high and the atmosphere in the office is normally high stressed. Although the company has gained reputation for one of Canada's fastest growing companies, there is a reason why there is such a high turn over rate with their employees.

Worked here for almost a year, never received my benefits even after asking. The high school vibe is strong here and if your not apart of it you can get by it’s just slightly harder.
 First off the good things. 
-friendly coworkers -not super fast paced -long lunch 
And now the bad. 
- management is very quick to do write ups for small mistakes 
- if you prove yourself right a written notice will not be redacted 
- little to no shop tools, you supply your own
- payday is semi monthly the worst way to be paid ever
- lead hand constantly late both in morning and from lunch no repercussions given
In conclusion
This place is ok to work for with low pay management definitely needs improvement. There are definitely better places to work than this place avoid if you can if you can’t stay as short as possible 

This place is absolutely terrible to work for. They have zero regard for your personal life and change your schedule drastically to suit their needs on very little notice.
All staff and personnel are underpaid and over worked. The head of operations is an absolute menace to work for. Disrespectful, all about himself with zero disregard, when they say jump they expect how high. Will change your schedules day of, even it means travelling out of province.

Hard to say anything good besides I was fooled into thinking it was a great place but after a while things started to surface that were questionable. Once you see the reality it's not great. I am grateful to have not invested too much time into that company because it would have been an even bigger disappointment. It's not likely that the Calgary operation will improve any time this decade. 

Great place to work. Very forward thinking, well organized company. They treat the staff extremely well. Lots of fun teaming building activities. They also offer great training programs and have a very experienced management team.

I worked here last year coating the billboards. The people here were decent and easy to talk to. The work was repetitive, can get tiring after a while.

Unfortunately, I didn’t make it through probation, I ended up getting laid off. No hard feelings toward anybody, just wish I could’ve left on my own terms.
