Working for curio was not a good experience. The tension at the salon can be felt by anyone there and it is constant. You are always worried that someone is talking about you and you can't trust anyone including the owners. They are the worst for back stabbing. They have an employee who at any moment will go off on you for no reason and when you speak to management about it because they have been there for 20+ years they tell you to just ignore them. No repercussions for anything this person does. Most of the tension stems from relations with this person and the rest of the staff. Also they continue to hire more people when they don't even have enough work for the stylists who have been there for years. To try to build up any type of clientele is almost impossible since they are given to higher seniority staff if they are available even if they have seen you before. The managers also outright lie to your face when you ask about this. Also the owners like to have conversations with you where they berate you in front of clients and staff. Very unprofessional conduct and they definitely have their favorites and rules apply differently to them. 

If you can avoid it do not work for this company. It's so toxic it's not worth it. 

The only good thing about working here was some of the people who you could trust and build relationships with. They were the only good part of the job 

My interview required me to answer basically no questions and then I was instantly offered the job with the requirement that I come in and shadow someone for an hour, unpaid. I ended up working there, and the manager was extremely critical. The turnover was ridiculous for salon coordinators when I worked there. Hours are long and schedules were put out at the beginning of the month for the entire month so know your availability a month in advance. The stylists and assistants are also great people. In addition, as far as I've seen, at other locations the dress code seems to be more lenient, but here it was not.

Very friendly work staff, always greeted when you walk in. There are slow times and busy times. When it is slow, management is a little lenient when it comes to being on sitting and talking to your co-workers. Good team players. Be prepared to work evenings, weekends, holidays and longer work days. Flexibility with hours and location is well suited for workplace. Either hourly or commission and no sales commission. Developed my skills with this company. Staff is willing to train on models or other staff on slower days. They show the procedures and protocol when it comes to health and safety of a spa environment. Overall good place, good staff, good clients.

Terrible management. Belittle you and criticize your work in front of others. People talk about other behind backs. If you can tolerate it it's good for some experience. Expect to pay to learn, then sign a contract saying you'll work there for years.. And if you leave you owe them. Terrible family that runs these salons.. Latitudes, curios, tonyc... All of them are Terrible. FYI the stylists here work here because they can't get jobs at real salons, or they are fresh out of school.

After over a year of work, there was no opportunity for growth or pay raise. The management was extremely rude and condescending. They would not schedule someone to cover your break and would demand you come in when sick. Management would gossip about employees in the salon. Half the staff were also rude and treated you like you are incompetent. However, some of the staff were amazing and supportive.

I definitely don’t recommend working here! Management plays favourites and they get away with anything while if you do something wrong you are scolded. Management was prissy and it felt as though I was in high school again. The girls have their groups and if you are not part of it you will feel left out and not invited to employee get togethers. There is no chairs so you are standing for 8 hour shifts. Find somewhere else to work beacuse this place is not good at all!

Great for aspiring Hairdressers to build an upscale clientele. Clean and trendy work environment and access to education and amazing professional beauty products . Being in Sherway Gardens creates a fun and compelling workplace. I've started with this company as my second salon and I make great money and love my coworkers. 

Hardly enough business, no help from coworkers or managers, improper training.
Not much to learn from them.
Management was dysfunctional.
Co-workers were friendly but catty.
Dealing with rude owners was the hardest part, and felt very expendable.
The most enjoyable part of the job was meeting new people.

Terrible management, at first it was fun and seemed like a great way to get some experience. Slowly everything changed and the truth came out. Management is extremely unprofessional, very high turnover rate (bad sign) and all employees seemed to hate working there. Overall bad experience. 

teammates were good. management was poor to bad. one of the managers the company hired didn't have any knowledge about the basics and didn't follow the health/disinfection to code. lots of micro-managing.
