Management is approachable and genuinely values feedback, giving developers the freedom to take ownership of their work. The workplace culture is inclusive, professional, and innovation-driven, where everyone strives to build great technology together. The hardest part of the job is balancing multiple projects and deadlines, but it’s also what keeps the work exciting. The most enjoyable part is seeing your code directly contribute to D3’s cutting-edge Morpheus platform and knowing that your work has a real impact in the cybersecurity space.

I joined D3 with high hopes but unfortunately, my experience has been marred by several concerning issues: gaslighting, outdated technology, and micromanagement.

Gaslighting: At D3, gaslighting is a pervasive problem. Employees' concerns and ideas are consistently downplayed or dismissed, creating a hostile work environment. When I raised concerns about certain projects, I was met with skepticism and told I was "overreacting" or "misinterpreting" the situation. This behavior erodes trust and makes it difficult to address real issues.

Outdated Technology: Working with outdated technology at D3 is not only frustrating but also hampers productivity. It's disheartening to see competitors leap ahead while we struggle with archaic systems and software. This not only wastes time but also affects our ability to deliver quality work to clients.

Micromanagement: The level of micromanagement here is suffocating. Managers are constantly breathing down our necks, second-guessing every decision, and requiring detailed reports on even the most trivial tasks. This stifles creativity and hinders personal growth.

I've been working at D3 for 3 years, and it's been an incredibly rewarding experience. The company fosters a culture of innovation and continuous learning, which has helped me grow both professionally and personally. The leadership team is committed to providing us with the tools and resources we need to succeed, and there's always a focus on quality and delivering the best products to our customers.

Sure, like any startup, D3 moves fast and has high expectations, but that's part of what makes it such an exciting place to work. You get to work on cutting-edge projects, collaborate with talented and passionate colleagues, and see the real impact of your work. The environment is challenging, but in a way that encourages growth and excellence.

I've seen some recent negative reviews, and while everyone’s experience can be different, I can confidently say that D3 is a fantastic place to be if you’re driven, eager to learn, and want to be part of something dynamic and impactful. I’m proud to be part of this team and excited for what the future holds!

Starting with positives, there are great people with good intentions in the company. They are experienced, reasonable, always ready to help. There is room to learn and grow given the right people.

The issue is that these are not the people in upper management positions, management expects employees to work over hours with no compensations, saves office space through overcrowding work areas, set unrealistic deadlines and require consecutive weekend overtimes whenever they see fit. This pushes many employees to stay until late at night, and upwards mobility is limited to the inner circle. Being belittled and yelled at is normal in meetings, communication is lacking throughout the company in terms of design, work assignment decisions and meaningful feedback.

Upper management have a personality cult and boasts their own achievements even though their reasoning ability is sub par and their original design is mediocre at best. 

It seems this company is struggling to move forward because it continues to micromanage its employees, which is a significant issue. There are numerous red flags indicating that the management doesn't respect its engineers or value their contributions. This kind of environment is toxic and likely drives away good talent. If the company wants to avoid further decline, it needs to drastically change its approach to management and start treating its employees with the respect they deserve. Otherwise, it will continue to face challenges in attracting and retaining skilled professionals.

I'm surprised by some negative comments from former employees who didn't meet work performance expectations. Working here has provided me with many opportunities for professional growth. The management team genuinely supports employee development and consistently encourages innovation and collaboration. I've gained valuable skills that have significantly advanced my career. Colleagues are supportive, and there's a strong emphasis on continuous improvement. Overall, it's an excellent workplace for both personal and professional development.

As a former Technical Writer at this innovative startup, I felt honored to convey their world-leading innovations to global users. The job was challenging yet full of opportunities, with excellent onboarding support and a very nice team. Over the past few years, I experienced significant growth and my efforts were recognized by my manager. Although I left for personal reasons, I hope this company continues to represent Canada's cybersecurity products on the global stage.

If you put in the hard work here, people will be able to see that and you will be compensated fairly. You will be given more responsibility because they trust you to handle key clients. Overall it was a great learning experience and great place to get your foot into the tech industry. You will be required to work overtime when there are deadlines to hit. It is a very fast pace environment. Days and weeks will past by very quick.

The work-life balance is very poor; 10-hour weekdays and Saturday shifts were standard. Management's communication style is often unprofessional, and feedback is frequently delivered in a way that feels demeaning to the engineering team. I would recommend looking elsewhere if you value a collaborative and respectful environment.

This is a fantastic place for anyone who thrives in a fast-paced, innovative environment. The core architect team is passionate, supportive, and always open to fresh ideas. Leadership values creativity and professional growth, making it easy to learn and make a real impact. If you’re looking for a dynamic startup where innovation drives success, this is the place to be!
