What is the best part of working at the company?
Nothing much beside a little bit more stating pay that other nearby very near by and not much more of a starting pay 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
The supervisors attitude and communication between different positions and departments 

They force you to eat lunch at the cafeteria they don't let you go get lunch or coffee they accused me of personally of leaving my post threatened to fire me and I stood my ground told them no such thing happened and when they realized I was right said nothing to me other than there was confusion you're good but I almost got fired over their mistakes and didn't even get an apology 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Clustered confusing unorganized but with amazing people that tend to put up with it the employees there the lower positions were all awesome and amazing people but they weren't happy with the company and neither was I they are not the most organized or trusting company they hired me for a concrete position after a month they changed me to assembly and told me that's what I was actually hired for even though it wasn't in the contract

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
I would go and repair concrete drill concrete cleanup concrete maintain concrete drums and machines and then go home at the end of the day after being told I did a really good job started at 11:00 would end at 8:30 p.m. and it was all right aside from the discrepancies that I mentioned earlier

Upon entering plant you go though a nurse inspection for a COVID test question &answer plus a temperature check you then continue on you meet with your contact you then proceed to your work station to be introduced to your job you tho on a trip trough the plant to see what needs to be done that is where the job function is a little blurry you then go back to where you started at    You are then left to go ahead with your duty you must be on your own to figure out where to start in the plant 
There is no job orientation it’s up to you to figure out on what to do how to do it & then are graded by someone who grades you good or bad that’s the end of the job for you there is no discussion about the job weather you done it properly or not you are called at home & told not to come in the next day  so you are bewildered as to what just happened to you 


The workday is what you make it. The work is important. Bridges and girders are extremely important. The work can be hard but workers are fairly compensated. Wages are above average, benefits are completely company paid, company pension, safety boot reimbursements, and  monthly employee appreciation BBQs that are company paid just to name a few perks. Senior management tries to do right by the employee. The hardest part of the job is the physical nature of the job, but I’m grateful for benefits that pay for massages and chiropractic treatments. if you like to be fairly compensated and like to follow the rules and be a good employee then you’ll like it. If you are lazy and want to make your own rules and get something for nothing then this is not the business for you.

Good people to work with. Supervisors think they are gods there and  they don’t listen to any suggestions or things any of the workers have to say to try to make their job or the environment any better. The lazy people get away with murder while the hard workers get crapped on and have to take up the slack. Pathetic 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Terrible supervisors that don’t have brains. 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
The work environment and the culture is fine amongst the workers that actually do the work. The stress comes from  supervisors that have no people skills. 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Some days I would be mudding  Pipe and  other days I would be running the shot coater.

Besides early mornings and long hours, it’s a great place to work!

Besides early mornings and long hours its stress factor comes down to lack of communication I.e. therefore organization.
Too many supervisors who think they are (your) supervisor causing contradictions in your daily work.

Depends who your supervisor is. Most are good, but you never know. Just do your job and your generally left alone and greeted by superiors with good attitudes.

It’s repetitive, but so are most jobs nowadays.

Absolutely amazing, I have seen all cultures and ethnicity come through the facility and decast hase accommodation for anyone 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
We start each shift with a company meeting and coffee, alot of jokes and laughs are shared about the crew. Then continue on with our delegated tasks till it's time to enjoy lunch in the cafeteria. (Amazing btw )

The money is not bad once you're full with your black hat.

Attitudes and backstabbing a lot of drama and some people are able to get away with not doing much while others have to carry the load

Depends who you are with and what department but there are way too many white hat bosses and you don't know who's in charge and who knows what a lot of chaos and politics 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Don't be afraid to get dirty and work hard and sometimes long hours and have your schedule changed in an instant. The cafeteria is nice though LOL good food for a good price (subsidized)

The  Best part  about working at De-CAST Is the Pay, Benefits and if you're lucky the tram you work with.

The most stressful part about working at De-CAST Is the Supervisors , Department leads and how unorganized everything is.

The work environment is loud and Dusty, you will get Dirty no way around that. The culture ( backstabbing  & favoritism  that stems  form the supervisors and department leads )

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
On a typical day it's busy and fast-paced

You start your day with very little leadership and guidance, management will throw you under the bus and use you as scapegoat to save their own skin. Make sure you get EVERYTHING in writing, however that might not even matter as they seldom keep their word. Be ready to live there and not have a life, they will use and abuse you and gas light you. Safety is only mandatory when you get hurt and they need to blame you, as this place is far from safe. Especially to avoid WSIB. Also, major layoffs mostly before holidays.


Dont work for this place especially in the heavy cast dept. If you get hurt they make you feel pressured to get cleared by the doctor. So you can work rather than being on modified duties so you can heal then you hurt yourself again cause of not healing properly they get rid of you. Walking you out like your threat.
Theudont care about the employee sure great benefits and great pay in the area but for cost you getting inured and out of work not worth it. And the bleighten disrespect from supervisors is unbelievable along with co workers making it a toxic environment. You work here you will be disapointed
