DURHAM ULTIMATE FITNESS

Hired as a personal trainer somehow made into a sales rep. The other trainers and sales reps are nice, althought you are not a real employee, you are made as an independent contractor. Commisssions not not paid out appropriately and you are told to make up stories to get people into sign up. If you are an honest person who like to get paid a real living it’s not worth it. If you enjoy lying to people about 9.99 specials that are advertised, calling years to month old leads and getting paid next to nothing for it go ahead.

I read these comments and always looked for good in things so I thought I’d give it a try. Don’t trust the sales manager he will lie to you about pay and the direction of the job. 
The district manager is good it could be batter if he was there more.
If you don’t believe me ask someone how the turnover is one you start your first of many unpaid days of the job (which will sometimes not involve training).

Management is terrible, they always blame employees for poor sales and complaints about business. 

Absolutely no job security, they fire employees without reason.

Company does not pay well and they expect you to do things that aren't part of your job description, like cold-call/generate leads, even though you aren't a sales rep.

They run a shady business, lying to get people to sign contracts, continuing to charge cancelled contracts. You will have to deal with those complaints, because management is never around when you need them.

Not worth the stress, no one lasts long there/high turnover

You are over worked and under paid. They do not pay out bonuses when earned. They lie about commissions so sales people end up making almost no money. District manager is shady. There is no job security. They'd rather keep hiring new staff then treat the ones they have properly. They avoid fixing things when they are broken. Money hungry!!! Be warned. It's not worth it.

The reception manager was amazing to work with and to have as a boss! The other receptionist were also amazing too, so were the personal trainers and nutrition consultants. The owners however not so nice, and the general manager is horrible. He has no compassion or understanding for life outside of work.

management is fun, welcoming and the atmosphere is generally good. gym membership is free if you work there. a typical day would consist of cleaning mirrors, answering phones and handling little cash transactions. overall a pretty good place to work.

Great workplace environment with adequate training given before starting work.
I learned many things in this job as a personal trainer, and delivered success to many clients in achieving their goals.

Generally a relaxed environment until the district manager comes in. As a co-op student I was there for my education, instead he had us place trim on the walls and do other jobs suitable for a contractor.

Don't ever work for this place, let go from cleaning job with no notice, and only reason was new manager brought her own crew of cleaners 

Completely felt screwed two days before new years when we were let.go for.no reason

Did not care about employee safety, requested PPe's multiple times and never got them.  Does not care about safety of members also. Management extremely unprofessional.

Great place to work love the people and the environment, have worked here for almost 3 years now, great owners always there to help when needed. Definitely would recommend
