This was literally the worst job I have ever had. Probably ever will have. I can hardly imagine a more toxic work environment. They would fire people over the most petty things. I watched dozens of hard working people get fired. Hard work and a good attitude will literally get you nowhere unless you are friends with certain department heads who are friends with management. This too is very difficult when most people are fired within the first few months for not fitting in or some other inconsequential reason. Most of the department heads sit in their lunch meetings for 5 hours to blame other staff for things totally out their control. Some department heads are very erratic and I would say socially abusive because they tend to gaslight and gossip about other staff. This happens while the entry level staff put out fires in the store. 

Management makes terrible business and staff relations decisions. Management is only in the store for about 20 hours a week or less and immediately goes into meetings for hours with mid level staff. This makes it difficult to address anything. They are too socially involved to see how this bias hurts the rest of the staff.

I wouldn't recommend working here to anyone under any circumstances. I thought I was pretty tough until I worked here and I was left with being depressed at work and my self confidence was very deflated over nothing I could control.

During my time at Dad's Organic, I experienced a toxic work environment that negatively impacted my well-being. I felt uncomfortable and stressed due to unprofessional behaviour, including gossip, dishonesty, and favouritism.
My concerns were consistently dismissed, leaving me feeling unsupported and unheard. I struggled with the lack of structure and organization, which hindered my growth and development as an employee.

Working at Dad's Organic took a significant toll on my mental health. The constant drama, stress, and lack of support led to a decline in my well-being. I began my time at the company in a positive and healthy state, but by the time I left, I was struggling to cope with the emotional impact of my experience.

I was not provided with necessary resources, such as clear expectations, feedback, or direction. This lack of support and resources made it difficult for me to succeed in my role.

I hope that in the future, Dad's Organic will prioritize creating a healthier work environment and supporting employee well-being.

A typical day would start with mopping floors, doing backstock, putting out new stock while adhering to stock procedures like FIFO, checking expirations, facing, making sure all tickets are accurate and the shelves are full while jumping on till as soon as asked,  and acknowledging and helping every single customer as they are the #1 priority. There are many other tasks and responsibilities that are too numerous to mention. I learned alot working here.  Management is hard to describe as things may have changed since I left. It was definitely quite cliquey when I was there. Management would definitely have their favorites and weren't subtle about it. They were a quite generous company to work for, and I do believe they cared about their employees, but there was a pretty strict hierarchy as well that was very plainly laid out.

There were numerous occasions where I felt secluded and discriminated. Management would yell at employees, and the owners of the company and store management were always butting heads. 

Very toxic environment to work in and I do no recommend working here permanently. Benefits were $100 a paycheck, and when you start at minimum wage it is hard to pay for. 

Nothing to do, and no opportunities to grow. You can't stand at the till even for five minutes if the store is dead, but they don't even have enough work for you to do in the store. I can only sweep the same aisle for a certain amount of time. 

Not a motivating place to be. Never would support this company or work with them ever again.

I spent a few years at Dad's before I went back to school and really enjoyed my time there.  I had great people to work with and we all got along well, some of us would even hang out outside of work.  

The work was hard at times, hours standing at the till or moving pallets full of product onto the shelves, but I knew that going into it and it made the days go pretty quickly.

They had a great health plan that covered quite a bit, the only down side was that getting payment from the health insurance company could sometimes take a while.

There's only a few positions that you can advance into above the entry level jobs but it's definitely a good place to work at with better wages than most retail jobs!

This is an amazing place to work. Management are welcoming, they check in with you, and connect throughout the year to see how you are doing both in the work environment and personally. Time off is flexible, and the set schedule is a wonderful thing (especially being closed Sundays)  The owners are the most wonderful people you will meet. The culture in this store is extremely friendly, and everyone is willing to help everyone out. You will genuinely feel cared for working here. I would absolutely recommend this place to anyone. You will love it just as much. 

So grateful to be part of this company. They know how to take care not only of their staff, but also their customers. As a small local business, it’s amazing to see how good of a relationship they have with their customers. 
As a former employee, I would say the amount of benefits, perks, and compensations for employees are very impressive compare to other retail stores. Lots of free product samples to try, flexibility of management, endless learning, fun atmosphere, store smells good 😅,everybody gets along, and lots of room for growth within the company.

This workplace offers lots of caring and recognition for employees. Management is amazing and flexible 
Lots of smiles laughter and supportive to staff and customers. 

Staff is treated great and get awesome discounts and so many educational opportunities.

I worked there for a little over a year.  It was a decent place to work.  There is always something to do and they allow you to work fairly independently.  

I had no problems with other staff and got along well with management.

Overall it wasn’t my dream job but I was treated well and got some good experience in a new industry.

Management and co workers so cliquey,  a group of staff were obviously the in group and treated other people as less important.

At first the job seemed so great but quickly I was uncomfortable in the environment because the workplace culture.

The job is easy work, but the environment was not easy to work in.
