I have never been bored once in my time at Daiya. It keeps me on my toes, keeps me challenged, and has given me so many opportunities that have helped me grow my career. I've loved the projects I've been able to work on and love that I get to work on products that have a positive impact in consumers' lives. 

The type of people who thrive on our team are those who a) like a challenge & solving problems b) can adapt to change and c) are passionate about making a difference. If you're looking for a place where you just do what is asked of you and clock out at 5 every day, then this probably isn't the place for you. 

Pros:
-Flexible schedule
-Supportive boss & team members 
-The best relationships out of any job I've ever worked (I've met some of my closest friends at Daiya)
-Ability to take on projects that interest me 
-Growth opportunities 
-Collaborative environment 

Cons:
-Changing priorities / lack of focus (we're working at being better at this as a company!)
-Heavy workload (but part of this is self-inflicted because I want to take on all my projects)

I learned a lot about the cheese production and packaging process. World class facility with a lot of mechanical wonders. I also love the fact they are making vegan cheese products. The hardest part of the job is blending in with co-workers. It's almost like tagalog is the first language and English is the 2nd language there. Their benefits package is really awesome and cover everything.

I was the only non-filipino in the PM packaging department. It was difficult to blend in especially when I'm also a vegan and wouldn't eat the food they always share during break time. I was set up by one of the team leader to only doing heavy lifting without rotation. So my back got sprained twice in a roll and couldn't work for 2 weeks. After my injuries, the management also required me to see clinical counsellor for emotional help as a condition for rerunning to work, so I couldn't work for another 4 weeks. I was very disappointed with the management.

From the outside, Daiya appears to be a fun, progressive place to work, but after jumping through multiple trials of fire to get hired here, I was disappointed to find that they are close-minded and misogynistic. They are not completely LGBTQ2S friendly and this is reflected in microaggressions and communications (both formal and informal). 

It is true, no day at Daiya is the same as the last / next, but this can wreck havoc for those seeking stability and certainty. I did not find that the company emphasized work-life balance, in fact I always felt stressed and guilty if I left on time, and did not "come in early, leave late".

My immediate supervisor is known to be overly critical and talked poorly about other personnel and managers. This does not build morale! This makes people on edge and act out of fear. It also makes it a competitive, "dog-eat-dog" environment.



What is the best part of working at the company?
They have a bigger place To work And very Convenient! The work is okey but the paper works is too much for one person to do especially your lifting and palletizing at the same time ! Plus using a computer to add and minus the task you do , that’s too much ! But people are good and easy to work with that’s all!

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Palletizing with log in log out in the computer together with lifting and paperwork’s!

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Very good environment and good people!

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Routine of work. Organize and helping each other like a team.

Daiya is constantly improving and evolving. Daiya share it's fair share of UP's and DOWN. There are times that you will be stress working here but need to push on, and there are times that we are enjoying our self. Each department have there own problem to deal with and each department shares their UP's and DOWN. the only problem we have in Daiya is that none of the department ever sit down and discuss this problem together. each department work like an individual area and do not care about the other department. if ALL department manage to sit down at least once a month and talk about problem and communication, then it will be better for the company. Communication is always the big thing, proper communication can go a long way.

It is a fast face environment. Repetition of what you are doing everyday. A lot of lifting especially in cook room. Exposure to fumes and dust-like from ingredients. Loud noise from machines. Workplace politics can observe, base on experience. No seniority except wages (The longer you are in the company the more you can have high salaries. So, new employees can't catch up with seniors.
If you are close to your supervisor, you may become leadhand even you are new and if he didn't like you, he will find a way to fire you or terminate you. Better to self-resignation.) Management is good especially HR, but then, supervisor is the one who handle you. Extended benefits and other benefits...thumbs up.

Overall the work environment feels good, however it is a very physically demanding job and payment feels low compared to some competitors. 

I would recommend as a first job only or temporary while you find something better.

Pros
Friendly coworkers willing to help you learn .
Easy tasks (phyisically demanding though).
Good benefits after probation .
Good first canadian job if you are an immigrant.

Cons
Very low income.
Hard to get noticed, not an easy place to grow.
Even if you are working as a team it gets lonely since you are stuck in a machine or task.
Very repetitive tasks assigned sometimes (feels like a mental jail) not always though.
Every minute of your time is counted.

I worked here as an apprentice but I can say that I haven't learnt new skills except the politics and favoritism. Manager is really doing favoritism and   playing politics instead of he has to create a good working environment. two my coworker has already left the company after serving 5 years here. and other will also follow the same. 
Management knows how bad is the manager  but  instead of doing something they promoted him to senior manager (Sorry but he is not deserve senior position)  

Daiya used to be a good company. Until changes has been made that was not on the positive side of things. Poor management made a lot of good 3+ years employees leave the company. I would say the company has lost its values and is currently headed down.

Environment is hostile, cold, no team work. Managers are arrogant and insanely competitive. You will feel sick every day. If you are looking for good benefits they give well, but be prepared to lose your mental heath. They do not care ,if you are struggling with work due to short stuff ,always try to push you towards work. They do not care about how do you feel. Some time due to lack of people 1 person covers 2 -3 persons job duties. Stay away from this company.
