Management at this store was completely unprofessional, and communication was terrible. Different managers gave conflicting instructions, leaving employees unsure of what to do. The training provided was a complete joke, consisting only of having new employees shadow others without proper guidance or explanation. This placed unnecessary pressure on employees and customers, especially in a high-pressure environment like a bridal store. The hours provided were inconsistent and not as promised during the interview, leading to frustration and disappointment.
The store often assigned unrelated tasks to employees, so get ready to do some cleaning washrooms, including cleaning toilets, mirrors, and other areas, as well as vacuuming the entire store, instead of doing your actual work. While it's important to maintain a clean and organized store, it is not reasonable to expect employees to perform tasks that are not related to their job duties.
 The training program was also shockingly insufficient, with new employees receiving only one or two days of subpar training. Even though management knew this was inadequate, they still scheduled these underprepared employees to work on busy days ten days later, expecting them to remember the store's outdated systems and procedures. The already stressful work environment was made worse by malfunctioning computers, causing long wait times for customers .
Management needs to take responsibility and do better, as the success of the store is largely due to the hard work and dedication of its employees. 
It is no surprise that this store has numerous negative reviews on the internet. If you notice they have ads posted all the time it’s because employees keep leaving this job within the first few weeks. The company's HR department was completely unresponsive to employees' needs, adding to the already challenging work environment and resulting in overwhelming employee dissatisfaction.

Given these issues, it is strongly advised to avoid working  at this store. Doing so could save you from job dissatisfaction, being unfairly terminated,  without reason. It is better to look for other job opportunities where you can get the respect and support you deserve, even if it means accepting a lower hourly wage for a more consistent and positive work environment.

TLDR: Negative work environment with catty and unprofessional management, and unpredictable and always changing schedules, on top of many other issues.
 
I was hired as a seasonal Stylist for the busy season. The training was the least amount of training I think they could get away with- about 2-3 short shifts worth. They expected you to know all the inventory right away and then you are just thrown in. It's a learn as you go but as fast as you can environment. 
The management was terrible. I never felt supported or like they actually wanted to invest in their employees and make them the best they could be. They were catty, showed high levels of favoritism, had poor communication skills, and gossiped about other employees. One of the managers would party with employees, openly told us she wasn't allowed to do it, but did it anyway. The DM at the time also had zero experience in bridal and would give conflicting directions the couple of times she came to the store. 
Scheduling was a disaster, as it changed all the time with little to no notice. I had a shift changed and no notification was sent to me. I showed up thinking I was supposed to work, but turns out they took the shift away the night before, which in turn wasted my time since I had made my way to work on a Saturday morning. They may schedule you for a short closing shift, assign you one small bridesmaid appointment, but expect you to sell $1000 or more.
The computer system was outdated, messy, and sometimes confusing to find the right info. They may assign you two brides at once to meet their quotas, which means that both brides don't get the full experience of bridal shopping and you are running around like crazy. The plus sized sample dresses selection was abysmal (limited to one rack in the whole store that wasn't even full), and having to explain the brides that they were their only options was always disheartening as they deserve to have the same selection. 
The only positives I can say is that I had some cool co-workers, and you get to try on the dresses sometimes which is always fun
Overall, I would never recommend anyone work for them unless you feel like these are not issues for you, or are only using it as a stepping stone to get a better bridal stylist job else where.

During my time with David's Bridal it was always exciting to meet brides and hear their stories. The job is high stress as is wedding planning. It can be a very important day for brides and things can get quite out of hand when things go haywire such as
• Appointment mix ups with dates and times 
• Arrival dates of dresses / wrong dresses or damaged upon arrival 
• Miscommunication between the staff to ensure the bride is 100% happy and informed of our policies 

I find that the turnover rate here is quite high. I saw many faces come and go, including managment, for various reasons. I found that scheduales would change alot and many times only a day or 2 in advance. This can cause mix ups as that is a very short time period to change a scheduale when not notified before hand, employees do have other commitments aswell. I do find that there is of course alot of drama and gossip within the staff, there tends to be this in any job of course but here it just seemed to be in abundance, and managment can sometimes pick favorites when it comes to this. 
Dresscode is an interesting one here as it is business professional and all black which is quite understandable but can get picky. I found that I had to continuously buy new attire as what I had was not adequate. When it comes to this management would crack down on some and not others who are out of dress code, including themselves who were not always in correct clothing either. Inorder to have equality, workers must be treated the same no matter there stature. 
I myself have worked in a few very high stress jobs and with many different characters but this is by far one of the most stressful jobs I have had. I found that brides and their parties only made up a part of the stress as the majority comes from the computer systems, communication errors between staff and management  

I do think that it is a great learning environment to move your career in a high end fashion industry forward, and is a great fit for many but can become a very high stress environment, especially in peak season.

This job can be rewarding in a sense that some customers can be do happy about the help provided however management can be VERY petty, they choose their favorite employees and treat the others horribly, they will talk horribly about about other employees To you and then talk about you when you are within ear shot. The managers will cut your shifts without telling you and aren't willing to give you any help with covering shifts unless you prove that you've already tried. Upper management is very petty and cold towards all employees, and you always have to walk on eggs shells around them. You will create amazing friendships with alot of the employees there which is a bonus. This job isn't a life time job its a temporary one. The hours always suck, and you never get a weekend off unless booked off 3 weeks in advance. If you get a weekend off it means your a favorite of the manager or friends with them. The hours can be either long and you won't get a lunch or short and you spend more money driving to and from work then you've actually made for the day. The pay is only good if you are willing to take every shift possibly and work over time, day in and out and sometimes you won't even get a day off. There is only ONE full time position in the company and it's a stylist, the rest is part time with no other options for growth as they tend to higher managers from the streets with no experience rather then off it to current employees! And if they gave you the option as a current employee they will severely low ball you on a salary which is not worth  move up for. They offer managers hired on the streets a higher salary to work there then any other employee will ever make. I did it for 3 and a half years, don't be me! -_- 

I’m honestly surprised this place has any positive reviews. The micromanagement and lack of professionalism were the worst I’ve experienced. I worked in alterations and truly loved my alterations manager and the seamstresses, they were supportive, skilled, and great to work with but the store manager made the overall experience incredibly frustrating.Expectations were completely unrealistic. The store constantly overbooked appointments and accepted walk-ins, yet still expected us to deliver a high-end “boutique” experience without the time or staffing to support it. Weekends were especially overwhelming, with lineups of customers while we were already stretched thin.The store manager had no sewing knowledge but frequently undermined the time and effort required for alterations. She was also quick to offer discounts, which directly impacted the alteration department’s hours. There was little to no support for staff, and I was often spoken down to, with no backup from management when dealing with customers or upper management. There was also a cliquey atmosphere, particularly at the front of house. CSRs were expected to handle everything at the same time, booking appointments, making confirmation calls, steaming dresses, creating alteration tickets, taking measurements, checking out customers, handling pickups, cleaning, and managing walk-ins, all simultaneously. It was chaotic and unsustainable. Overall, I would not recommend working here if you value your mental health.

I found that having multiple managers created a cliquey micromanaging environment. I also found that the managers never stood up for/behind their employees but would rather undercut their employees following the company policies. The sales goals were also set at unrealistic heights especially when the products were sized poorly making customers often feel bad about themselves. They would threaten firing employees if goals were not met, which lead to higher than necessary stress among staff. Making stylists rush through appointments in 90 minutes didn’t leave room to actually get to know the customer and what they would actually like. And if you could find something in the outdated stock, they often wouldn’t be able to try on in the right size or colour. They try to push the boutique experience yet open to people without appointments, then pull stylists with appointments to help people who came in without one. This makes them late for their appointments and then have even less time to help than before. On top of all that, the floors in the store are just thin carpet over concrete making walking around for even short hours feel like your feet are being punched by the floor with each step. A lot of changes need to happen before we would ever consider this job again. 

If you are someone who likes to keep busy ALL day and "go-go-go" this is the job for you. There is always something to do, appointments to take, or someone to help. However, if you don't handle stress well, this is not the job for you. I handle stress quite well but there were still a few nights i did not sleep because of the customer service issues. 
The management are all super nice and great people to work for as they are extremely accommodating with school/family events that come up. However, weekends are pretty much mandatory, and you will NOT get a weekend off unless you book one off yourself. Almost 95% of the staff is Part-time, so unless you work everyday there is usually miscommunication which leads to customer service issues.
The dress code is forever changing and its expected you dress business professional for a minimum wage job. With that being said, unless you have the clothing already you will probably spend the first few paycheques just on clothes to wear.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Small store spaces and crowded during peak season.  Makes it difficult to close sales as customers are somewhat uncomfortable. The company makes money based on quantity but it can affect the quality of the appointments.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
It was a fun culture, somewhat competitive but they have built in procedures to reduce the likelihood of someone stealing your client/sale.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
It's usually clients by appointments if you're a bridal stylist. For other stylist it can be bridesmaids/mother of the bride appointments or sometimes walk-ins. During peak times (Bridal Christmas) it can be back to back appointments from the time you get in until your shift ends.

This is a fun place to work, as long as you enjoy a fast paced environment, with lots of problem solving. If you’re okay with part time and only part time you’ll be fine. There’s no opportunity for full time unless a management or the full time stylist position becomes available. Management is very dedicated to their jobs and genuinely want to help you, but can be overbearing and unwilling to take new ideas. With any corporate business the direction comes from an unseen headquarters and there’s no questioning or space for new ideas, but at a store level feel free to voice your input and thoughts. Very open, honest work environment, with a lot of people who are female empowering, driven, excited and want to be there. Expect to start at minimum wage, with the possibility of commission and yearly raises if you perform well.

Working at David's Bridal started as an interesting experience when I was hired as a part-time dress specialist. Initially, the training lacked guidance, relying heavily on self-study via a tablet. Despite coming from a retail background, I struggled with the emphasis on sales over customer experience. However, with the help of one supportive manager, I learned to excel by understanding the dresses and improving sales. Unfortunately, the payment system was flawed, leaving me underpaid despite raising concerns to management. The COVID period brought further confusion, with my employment status shifting unexpectedly. Eventually, an unrelated injury led to my dismissal, further highlighting management issues. Despite challenges, I gained valuable skills in time management and teamwork, finding support from dedicated coworkers.
