Working in construction has its ups an down. Like every other job. If yoyr looking to move up the ladder look someplace else.
Traditional Elder is a way of life. I've learned so much about my culture language an traditional medicine's, I love it.

Very stressful especially in the winter term season, trying get to experience, ain't to the general public,  that there is a time frame for snow removal,  and that roads are done in a timely manner, except in an emergency , weather conditions played important part of summer work.

There is not enough money working as a mechanic for the Antigonish DOT
The mechanical branch was a total disaster in regards to cleanliness and organization. The pace was deplorably laxed. The public regarded you as part of the reason their roads were in such terrible condition. It was embarrassing to work for this department. There is a serious lack of safety training and safety procedures in place.

The mla hired me for a winter operator job.l worked one winter and that was enough for me very unorganized.the gov. Trucks are getting old and breaking down.you could be on side of rd for hrs. In a snowstorm before a mechanic came out.now wonder they have a hard time to get drivers in the winter


Travel to work in poor weather at any time of day or night.Pre trip truck and load sand or salt.tarp and secure load.spread salt or sand and plow as required. Install or remove chains as required.Post trip truck and fuel and wash truck

It was a good job however there was no way to acquire a fulltime position so there for I needed to find better fulltime work. So as I move forward my persute of a better life work balance and to be comfortable with my finances i must move on.

Unorganized and rolls along at a snails pace. 
A+ for safety.
A lot of job politics.
Good wages and good coworkers.
Advancement opportunities are there, but not easy to come by. Seniority means everything. Work ethic means nothing.

a work day could range from labour work to driving a truck to operating equipment. there really isnt any hardest part to the job but the most enjoyable is seeing the finished product of the task at hand.

--Arrive at office, tool box talk, proceeded to draft surveys

--Older co-workers, allowed me too learn a great deal from their experiences.

--Lots of overtime
