Dont Yell At Me

I have been worked at DYAM for almost a year and to be honest the training session is stressful compare to other jobs. However, management is very care about the stores include numbers, visuals, uniform, etc. co-workers are working very hard here. I feel like I really want to match them when I first start and become one of them. I heard a lot of my friends said they get less hour and tips during covid period in retail and other bubble tea shops. But I don't see too much difference at our store. everyone on the team get fairly hours I guess bc the owner only keep good people. The good thing is they never over-hire extra people (as far as I saw) . During interview/evaluation, you feel like it is really hard to get in/pass but once you join the team. They care about your hours, availability and always paid on time or even ahead of time (sometimes). I got my tips after the first month, I guess its the training month or ? anyways I still enjoy working at DYAM and I hope the business succeed!

It is a ok job for me. 
I learnt teamwork from here since before I always worked individually at other jobs. But in here you can expect teamwork and co-workers are all willing to help. The hardest part of this job is the first two weeks!! It is pretty tough because you have to learn and memorize everything. There is quiz for recipes, kitchens and customer service practice. Management seems don’t want to waste any extra time to wait for a result. They rather than you can prove you are a fast-learner. Once you passed the training, most of time is being with your co-worker. So I’m okay with it and manage it already. Tips is less than $1 per hr in winter and summer will get a little more than $1 just for me not sure others. 

I got the hours they mentioned during interview, its pretty stable for me. 

hmm they have really good and unique bubble teas which my family all loves it. my parents suggest me to try my fist job here. I did not expect I can get it but yes I get in and worked during my summer break when they opened their nw location.

I really enjoyed working with my coworkers. long standing hour is ok, stress level is very fun for me! I actually enjoy coming to work and doing any roles (cashier, barista, kitchen). It is a lot of work but the whole experiences during is definitely worth it to try. I hope they will open one in Toronto though so I can apply there while I m taking university there. Great job for students looking for part-time work. The co-workers were usually great, fun to work with, and made time go by quickly. The job was very fast-paced and busy, especially during holidays and when the company puts out promotional offers. They don't hire enough employees to work these busy shifts so you will always feel drained and overworked. Although some shifts were fast-paced and busy, the job itself is not hard and you will get the hang of things very quickly. I had no problems with booking time off when I needed to study or write exams.

Careful, they tend to rate themselves here. I was training here and had the most toxic and petty management. They yelled at me during my trainings as to why i was not doing well, ironically what their business name is. Their tips are NOT TRANSPARENT so mostlikely you'll be getting $1/hr or even 0.60Cents/hr. That is how low and shady they are! 

You work with a coworker which mostly ends up having only two people in shift. They also have cctv cameras with audio in it, so mostlikely theyre listening to their employees talking. Creepy

A great first job if you’re in college or in need of a job during gap year, and definitely a bonus if you love bubble tea. I appreciate that management also pay tips to us even it’s not a server/table service job and I got trained that must be offer good customer service to customers which is also my most enjoyable part of this job. So again, it is a good starter job for part time or full time.

I worked here while I was in university. Overall, it was a great experience working at DYAM especially if you're a student or it's your first job.

Pros:
-Coworkers were hard-working people.
-discount on drinks and merchandise. Free Teas (but not for adding syups).
-Usually very busy, which makes your shift fly by
-Flexible hours - was great for me while I was in school
-Management was strict but supportive

Cons:
-stressful during rush hour

I do recommend DYAM to anyone looking for part-time/full-time.

The owner is very strict with recipe training. I have to really study hard like school's homework Lol. However, I am happy that I did passed my two weeks training though. So not too much complain about it since co-worker are really good people and reliable. Owner work with my school schedule have no problem book my exam dates and Banff trips. so far still enjoy making drinks and love my customers here. They brought me candy one day and that really made my day.

The work itself I would say is quite fun, you get to make some drinks and cook some pearls, prepare the tea and whatsoever. But the management is very microaggressive, you will get blamed for stuff done by another coworker as they do not take a deeper look before confronting, and when you defends for yourself, they would NOT apologize but rather makes you feel more guilty. The manager's husband weird me out too. He doesn't show up too often, but whenever he does, it is quite uncomfortable. 

It is a fast-paced working environment. It is higher expectation than regular cafe or bubble tea shops. They are very care about customer service, drinks quantity and creativity of their recipes. It could be challenging if you just prefer a easy job and earn a quick cash. This is definitely not a place for you. 

Pros: Discount on drinks and merchandise
          Good hours
          Nice coworker and make good friends.

Cons: Rush hour is stressful
