Pros: 
1. salary and benefits are ok
2. Most of the employees are great
Cons: 
1. They intentionally run understaffed so that upper management can make huge annual bonuses and non-management employees are expected to do the work of 2-3 people.
2. "Boys Club" environment. If you are not a long-time friend of the family or upper management, you are not in and never will be. Favoritism and nepotism are painfully obvious
3. They will constantly add to your workload, regardless of how busy you are. Expect to take on the work of someone who gets fired
4. Training is non-existent. You are expected to learn new roles on your own. No use asking for help, usually the only person that knows the job is the one that got fired.
5. They do not evaluate performance for fear you might ask for a raise
6. Zero accountability for upper management. They do what they want and get away with it. Bad management decisions are covered up by throwing others under the bus or firing them
7. Zero job security unless you are in the "boys club". Does not matter how long you have been there or how well you are doing. If one member of the club doesn't like you, your days are numbered
8. Owners have no idea what's going on in their own company. And they don't seem to care
9. HR is there to protect the company and upper management only.
10. Staff are over-worked, stressed and miserable
11. Most people in upper management there should not be allowed near humans.

I was so excited to be hired for a position with this company as an A/P Clerk and was looking forward to my new role at a new company. 

After less than a week, I hated it! 

But.....being the optimistic go getter that I am I gave it a chance and by the end of the 2nd week I was positive that this position at this company was "NOT" for me. I left at lunch on a Friday and never went back.
Training is minimal and brief...........A/P Dept. is under staffed and the work load for the 5 people in that Dept. is ridiculous. 

They need at least another 5 A/P clerks to accommodate the workload so that the existing team members are not overworked and overwhelmed. 

The office is so quite most of the time you can hear a pin drop........Nobody talks!  From what I gathered from other staff ....chatting is frowned upon.  My opinion is that chatting amongst your co-workers is good to get know each other and establish good working relationships as long as the chatting is not excessive and does not interfere with your work.

Everyone there seemed very nice however I did hear some things about some people and management that made me second guess my decision to accept the position.

The good thing about this company was the salary and benefits package. They were willing to work with me during the negotiating process.











E.S Fox has been an amazing company to work for, for as long as I have been there. As a family oriented company, every position makes you feel like you are making a difference and helping the company grow with you. The management of each department are always helpful and approachable. Working for a large, successful business helps you to learn different processes and grow in your career as it is a company you will want to stay with for a long time. They treat their employees with respect and reward those for the time they have been employed. There is a reason there are so many people who get to join the "25 year club". There are plenty of incentives and fun things the company does throughout the year to get everyone involved and to get people to know each other, including the executives. The hardest part of the job is learning new things and staying on task, but if you are someone who is eager to learn then it is not difficult at all.

What is the best part of working at the company?
Eager to teach lots to learn. Very professional, great group of competent professional and happy employees 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
High standards expectation to be at the top of your game. People dependent that you do your job right? So they can do theirs right?

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Great culture. Lots of optimism, camaraderie, professional but take an interest in your personal life. Want to see you succeed.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Show up smile on your face. Greeting by everybody. Little discussion amongst each other about personal then work related. Making sure everyone's on the same page head into work.

I work as a contractor for FOX Nuclear division through the UA (Plumbers, Steamfitters and Welders Union). The crew that I am part of is a great group of talented individuals who are supportive and skilled. My review can only speak to the UA side of this company and not the actual full-time side of a permanent employee. On the nuclear side, safety is an overriding focus above all. (Even production). 

Although the foreman and general foreman here are all pretty good people for the most part, the company itself can tend to be on the more frugal side when it comes to things like material and tooling orders, holiday events etc. Overall, their work is pretty good and there is very rarely a feeling of being pushed or rushed (on the nuclear side of things at least - I am sure that outside of this field, that would likely not be the case).

 

They will lie and tell you what they think you want to hear at your make shift interview .... than when you are hired you find out real quick what a poorly run demeaning work place this is ... boys club and if you don’t fit in they will use and abuse you ... and management is the head of this boys club .... I’ve never heard of management of swearing and threatening guys that they will be fired on a constant basis ... and all employees are afraid to stand up to this ... well the ones not in the boys club . Humane resource is nil to none.... bottom line if you like to be put down abused threatened demeaned used and lied to this is the place for you .... but if you have any respect for yourself..... run 

I really enjoyed working at E.S. Fox. Great people and a really fun job. 
My biggest issue was always the flexibility. You MUST work 7-4 or 8-5 with a mandatory 1 hour lunch. Management makes you feel awful for leaving for an appointment or using vacation days. Every single minute you're at an appointment you have to make up that time.  When I realized I could be compensated better elsewhere with way less working hours and more flexibility... I knew I had to take another job. 
When I gave my notice, I was told to pack my stuff and get out. After 6 years working there I was very sad to see it go down this way. This reaction made me realize how I wasn't valued and made me happy about my decision. 

Great company to work for in the field. 

The fab shop in Port Robinson was a joke. Floor supervisors couldn't care less about getting things out the door on time. 

Paid union dues without representation come bargaining time which equated to 5 year contracts with A) garbage pension contributions  B) cumulative raises which were a quarter of the yearly cost of the living increase.

Those in management either inherited their positions from a parent, uncle or brother or were hired directly from clown college.

It could have been a great place to work if the floor supervision did more than stand around and smoke butts.

The guy who drew on everything was hilarious.

I've been working here since early 2017 and my experience is that they are disorganized and not open to innovation; Some steps are being taken to change that but at time of writing, managers do not take thorough minutes in meetings and do not address issues brought up by staff, it feels like you are not listened to, and the overall mood among employees is one of distrust. This is a culture that is perpetuated by the fact that communication, transparency and accountability are lacking. I hope they can resolve these issues soon since many great people actually work here. Other than this, It's not that bad a place to work in - co-workers are nice people. THIS IS WITH REGARDS TO THEIR DARLINGTON OPERATION

I worked in the IT department at Fox.  My work space was shared in a small room, centrally located, no cell phone reception, no windows, hot in the summer, cold in the winter. The corporate ERP system was written in the late 90's early 2000.  Still used and loved by management. There is no plan to replace with modern technology because the people in charge of making these decisions were part of the team which wrote it. Tools given to me to maintain this software are 20 years old and no longer supported by the vendor. ERP system is basically a text-based, menu like design, no images.
