I worked for over 3 years at EPFC at the Saskatchewan Site and the Conoco Philipps job locations. It was an excellent experience and one that I will not forget. I developed long lasting relationships with everyone from the President right down to the site labourers. I was given many opportunities for advancement from leadership and had continuous support from all levels of leadership. Granted there were challenging days, sometimes weeks...but through it all we got through those challenging times as a team. I have been in the industrial safety industry for many years and have seen my fair share of BS. EPFC, in my opinion has been the best company I have worked with. My only wish is that they had more work lined up. I work with with them again in a heartbeat.

What is the best part of working at the company?
Beautiful building in the heart of downtown Calgary

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
My manager was only a luckwarm manager and he was tossed in far over his head

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
It was pretty polarized, my work mates were great but the management of our team was not capable of the position

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Typical engineering firm, lots to do and lots of responsibility assigned to the role

Select departments and people were good to work for at one point 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
HR is not on your side when you feel uncomfortable or unsafe. Some of their most important people believe women shouldn’t be on site. It’s hard to make a career there when you feel you’re fighting just to stick around

Within some departments, the people are wonderful. When you brand out and have to be involved with others, there’s a lot of animosity within and people whole believe they are the be all end all

Camp life, away from home

Great team mentality, safety team is awesome. 

Team morale was important and noticeable.  Great leaders.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
12 hour shift

Cheap with a bad company culture. Most of the core group of employees were extremely cliquey and shut out anyone new. Needed to wait six months to receive any benefits. One of the foreman had some kind of mental problem and would scream at employees over minor things. They don't pay for flights (camp job) so most of us had to drive 8+ hours at the beginning and end of each shift. The pay was average.

Great crew and supervisor also best safety group ive got to work with 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Same as every other place your not rushing but a steady pace to get work done is needed 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Great environment everyone is very nice welcoming and happy to teach

Detailed and fast past work environment. Design, construction and fabrication makes for an exciting project execution. Peers are knowledgeable and experienced but reluctant to take personal responsibility for their errors. People are treated a little like coal into a furnace. Management doesn't seem to have a good understanding of the core vision of the company.

Good place to work, lots of talented personnel pulling engineering projects together. The fast paced environment provides full engineering, procurement, fabrication and construction field services allowing for dynamic job functions. Management team has good focus on objectives to grow the business.

This company preached respect on the job site but that is an outright lie. They have a safety team and pretend to be about safety but in reality if you have a safety concern and bring it up your employment is in jeopardy. The leadership will make a mistake and then pawn it off on someone else to take the fall. 

Switched from commercial to work for this company, best decision ever works awesome, tons of hours, great people and the pay is excellent. I could not be happier and prouder to work for this company
