I worked here for 4 months as an intern and I had a great time here. I would warn that it is a masculine culture so be mindful of that if you ever want to work here. All the guys are super nice and hilarious. 

Hours are long and sometimes can get intense. You would be either working outside or inside the control room. You will have to face the elements as well but it is the kind of work. 

There is opportunity to advance higher as it is union, based on your years of service, you will be given extra work and responsibilities so there is also that. however, you will have to work for a couple years before you see that happening. 

What is the best part of working at the company?
Decent wage for working local.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Practally begged me multiple times to hire on as a temp. I didn't need more temp worm.  Implied that it could end up being a year or more. After quiting an on and off long term temp job, the day I show up I find out the guy I was filling in for was coming back in a week. They'll lie to your face.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
The work environment is strange.

Great company as far as salary and friendliness, Horrible management. I couldn't stay passed 2.5 months  even with the above average salary. 

My position was stores coordinator at the Saskatoon Plant, my supervisor was unprofessional, rude, and old school - the manager, super controlling, critical . I was the 5th person to leave in 3 years, mostly becuase of the supervisor, yet nothing changes! 

I wouldn't recommend this company especially the store position.

The work and other operators are good. 

Any dealings with management is terrible with them changing minds and going back on what they said. 

Do not trust anyone in the management, they will sell you out to make them look good, take any ideas you have and call them their own. 

To get into trouble by your boss for putting in legitimate environmental reports because it lowers his bonus for example. 

They are "hurting" for money right now and raises and benefits are all getting cut back right now.

ERCO Worldwide is more of a fun place to work.  Have a great respect to the management team.  Employees are very cooperative and supportive. The company is more into manufacturing the chemical products and the employees are mostly engineers who have vast experience in their field.  It is sometime challenging to brief the Users as they have very limited IT knowledge, but it is really fun to make them understand the underlying problem and resolve any issues there to.

Overall a great place to work. The focus on the safety of employees is second to none. Senior leadership maintains an "old school" work mentality, but are very open to hearing suggestions. The company is working towards becoming more modern and accommodating towards millennials.

For IT the place is a good  starting point to learn new technologies but at a very fast and stressful pace. There is a small IT team supporting the whole company. Moody management, one day everything is Perfect, next day is h... on earth.

-Typical day  is 8-4
-Really supportive team and enjoyed working with a team that really cares about the plant 
-A lot of tasks to complete, not a lot of down time, plenty to learn which means that there is a lot of personal growth potential


This company is into manufacturing and has no importance tied to IT services or people who are providing them and gives them no respect.only work here if u want to make engineering your career path specially in chemicals.

Very kind and loyal people for the most part.   Flexible work hours and most managers are comfortable with some working from home days. 
 Senior management lacks strategic vision and is very disconnected from the business.  Many, many processes and practices require updating.
