If you value yourself you will not work here. Nothing is done with thought of the works. They ask so much and give you nothing in return. Some members of management treat you as if you do not matter. For example they never have the schedule out on time you can not make plans with notice. They don't pay as well as they make it sound in the interview. They will make you work a 10 hour shift with no over time and ask you to stay happy no matter how sick or tried you are from over working. Had to fight to get the tips they made and management still takes a cut. As a worker you will be asked to do things you get like 5 minutes training for. You will be ask to work while very sick because you no one can take your shift because they do not wanna be there either. Life is to short to work for the current management. They do not value the workers or how hard you try. No matter how much workers ask for the schedule out on time it is never done. No matter how much work you do it is never enough and always say there are still problems and that's why they can't do anything for you or truly help around the store. The staff is more then happy to help new staff. The staff will help you no matter what and try to keep you sane but at the end of the day the job sucks the life from you and your out side life. If value yourself and your family and friends DO NOT work here until management gets their stuff together. You will miss so much you will regret it.

I had a positive experience working at EXIT Kelowna. The management team showed a strong commitment to inclusivity and making each employee feel valued, which I found commendable. The work hours were quite lengthy, which could be occasionally challenging. Initially, the job was enjoyable as it allowed me to take on a position of authority and knowledge. Additionally, there was a staff discount available for friends and family, which was a great benefit. 

This role served as a valuable entry-level position, providing comprehensive training in payment processing, customer service, and maintaining a clean working environment. 

However, I would like to bring to your attention that occasionally there were delays of a couple of days in receiving payment. Additionally, we were assigned only one week of shifts at a time, and there were instances where issues in the office took longer to be resolved due to the management overseeing multiple locations. (Such as issues with co-workers, the escape rooms, or customers.) - There was not much opportunity for advancement, as there was one management position, which was currently filled and unlikely to become vacant anytime soon. 

Despite these challenges, the work environment was accepting and enjoyable. The company showed flexibility in accommodating employees' needs, and I had the opportunity to collaborate with exceptional individuals.

There are so many reasons that I'm happy that my lousy experience of working here is finally over. 

The people you work with are awesome but the people you work for are not. 

The schedule comes out with very short notice, so you can never make plans a few days ahead. 

You can be expected to work 12 hour shifts without overtime pay since that's what they put into your contract. 

You also end up being paid very little while working very hard.

Sometimes your entire schedule is filled up with "on call" shifts. This means that they can schedule you to work a ten hour shift (11am-9pm for example). If they don't call you in, you don't get paid, if they do call, you are expected to show up.

Many of your awesome coworkers will be new and will be confused quite often. This is because people constantly quit since working here is painful. 

I have seen proof of how my coworkers have been treated and my experience of working here hasn't even been that bad compared to them. 

Unless you hate your life or are extremely desperate for a garbage job, do NOT work here. Instead you can work at the following locations: anywhere else

I hope you won't make the same mistake of working here as I did.

Im fairly new, only been there a few months since i finished school. I was full time this summer, but im back at school now and they are really accommodating. We work on an averaging agreement so the shifts can be long, but i like that with. With my classes im not that available but i can still normally get around 15-20 hours a week with only two or three shifts. Its really great. I know long shifts arent for everyone but they really work if you only have a couple days available. 

Also i love the team we have, we all get along pretty well. Its a really fun job, customers are often pretty excited and you can really get a sense of fulfillment from that. Its not like jobs where 50 people groan as they try on clothes they dont want to pay for then leave them all in a pile on the floor. Its nothing like retail. Its so much better.

And there is a huge variety in the job which i like. I get really bored with the same mundane daily tasks but at Exit we do all sort of different things like cash, customer service, cleaning, which is the basic CSR job, but we get the bonus of crafting and building and creating as well as we do online marketing and more. Its really nice to have a break from the everyday.

You cant go wrong applying here.

I was employed at Exit Kelowna for nearly three years before recently deciding to resign from my position. This job served as a fantastic introduction to the workforce and I truly enjoyed my time there, which is why I stayed for an extended period. I eventually advanced to the role of "Senior Escape Room Attendant." 

During my tenure, I had the opportunity to work under the previous management, who unfortunately departed around the same time as myself. As such, I cannot comment on the current management team. I found the job to be engaging and enjoyable, particularly with the meaningful interactions I had with patrons. During slower periods, I appreciated the chance to bond with my colleagues. 

While the compensation was decent, it was not necessarily meant to be a sole means of financial support. The job could be demanding at times, particularly during peak seasons such as holidays and weekends, as it is an entertainment venue. However, overall, it remains one of my most cherished work experiences.

I worked here for a while and really liked the job. It was really fun, we got to do a lot of crafting and building. We got to have some input on the themes which was awesome. I really loved my coworkers, we got along like a little family for a while. Sadly the majority of my friends who worked here ended up kind of ruining the place over time. I mean its a fun job, but its still a job and a lot of people kind of took that for granted? So that made the job a bit harder for me and the like 2 other people who actually tried. I left around that time because i had the opportunity for a higher paying job, but my one friend still works there and says its way better. The management fired or dealt with the people who weren't working and apparently the team is way better now. I've even thought about going back. But all in all its a great job, just as long as everyone does their job.

I dont say that lightly. Ive worked alot of jobs. Some really great and some really terrible. No job is perfect but this is the best ive had. The owners are great, they care about their staff. As long as you do your job you get all sorts of privileges like sitting, paid breaks, tips, and more. The Manager is around my age which is really nice and refreshing. They understand what its like to be young and poor and struggling. They are easy to talk to. alot of the job is working form lists which i like but i know not everyone does. So i guess thats up to each person. The customers can be a little edgy sometimes. People in Kelowna are entitled and that definitely applies to white moms who are mad their kids didn't "win". But overall its great. Most of the customers are young also and nerdy which is fun. I really love this job and am very thankful for it.

The management of this place is pathetic. working here means being lied to and being treated like someone who doesn't matter.

You do way too much work and get paid minimum wage. and the schedule comes out the day before it starts to you canb't plan ahead. your schedule can also be filled with "on call" shifts. which are about 10 hour periods throughout the week on which you are required to be available to get called in to work, if you don't get called in, you do not get paid for any of the 10 hours that you had to wait for your phone call. 

they also promise you that you get a pay raise after a few months, this simply means that you have to fight for a tiny increase in pay.

the manager and the owners are very immiture and run this place in a ridiculous way.

This is the most poorly managed place that I've ever worked. Everything is taken personally. From requesting a day off to bringing up a WorkSafe issue. This company loves to propagate that they are a "family" but what that really means is that there's no professional boundaries. The district manager constantly belittles and berates old employees to new employees, using innocent part timers as scapegoats so that they don't have to be introspective and actually try to change any of the problems here. Expect to be severely underpaid, underappreciated, and overworked. It's not worth it.

Management was never on top of their stuff. Schedules sometimes came out 8 hours before they began, you have to sign an averaging agreement so you can work 11 hour shifts without OT, and all tips are pooled and then divided by hours work to be "fair" (you just end up working mad and making the same tips as someone who sat around doing nothing). That being said, getting time off was a breeze and the coworkers are great. There was definitely favouritism (when I worked there, the only manager and only assistant manager were dating).
