A typical day at work included processing sales transactions as well as exchanges or returns, tagging markdowns on sale items, processing incoming or outgoing store transfers, and verifying orders and ensuring that the amount of merchandised received matched the amounts on transfer invoices. 

All incoming merchandise was sorted, security tagged, and checked off before being put out into the floor. Also, all merchandise walls were changed around on a regular basis as new merchandise came in. Mannequins were changed weekly as well. All necessary documentation was sent out to head office on Mondays. 

The till balance was verified morning and night. I often closed the store, which involved tidying the store,wiping down all of the store mirrors, performing the closing procedure on the till, filling out the necessary paperwork, and doing the nightly deposit at the bank.

I learned how to operate according to the Eclipse management system, according to the company standards. I enjoyed working with my co-workers. Because our store had a limited hourly budget, however, there were times where I would work alone for hours at a time, and in the event that there was an unexpected rush, it was at times difficult to give every customer my full attention, but I always tried to make sure everyone was tended to. 

I really enjoyed my time at Eclipse. The hours were reasonable, I believed in the merchandise I was selling and I enjoyed interacting with customers.

eclipse was my first job. i was hired and worked there for about 2 years. over those two years i had created bonds with fellow coworkers whom i still talk to today. however throughout those two years i had stayed loyal to the company and even when there were girls coming and going out of our store i ended up  becoming “seniority” over my other colleagues, other than my manager of course, which led to me having to open and close the store on a regular basis. while this is a very fun and educational experience for me, since i was still in high school it was hard to keep up with my own needs. the job became draining and people started to concider me the assistant manager since we were out an assistant manager for the months i was opening and closing the store, to which i thought was funny since i was never getting paid anything close to an assistant managers hourly pay. too much responsibility was put on to me at too young of an age which led me to resign from the job. maybe it was my fault because i have a tendency to never say no. i have lots of memories within that store and the company. some good and some ugly, but im glad i met the people that i did and even if i wasn’t treated properly atleast i gained experience i wouldn’t have gained anywhere else.

I was brought into a store that had an entirely new staff. We all received training together for two days, but there was no formal training, and it was mostly shadowing. The company itself is extremely outdated, and they have extremely high expectations for very low pay. The budget hours given to us were enough for the manager and maybe two other staff members during the slow season.

There were many negatives about working there, including but definitely not limited to:

- Wasn't allowed to hire staff, and the staff we had were unreliable. When they would call out, I was expected to work a 12+ hour shift, sometimes alone.

- Backroom had mice.

- Due to a lack of hours, working alone for many weeks, opening to closing.

- DSM had sent a fellow manager to fire another manager, which was a huge red flag.

You are just another number to them, and they have no care for the work you put in. They are solely focused on sales, but no coaching or guidance is provided. Overall, working there was a terrible experience, and I would not recommend it to anyone.

I used to work at Eclipse as a Sales Associate, the work was fairly easy since the workdays were very slow. The employees were very friendly and welcoming however the assistant manager and store manager were nice at first but very sour towards my decision with leaving the company. I had called in sick (3 hours before my shift) because I had a very nasty stomach flu and even had proof with a doctor's note, however, they refused my call in and demanded that I still come into work just because it was boxing day at the time. The assistant manager was very competitive with their sales which drove a wedge between them and other employees, which was not a good example of leadership and teamwork which was what was said in my interview of what working with the company would be like. At my time at eclipse (which was only for a year) there was not only one but two overturns, which says something for a company. Hopefully, they have re-trained the assistant manager and store managers to improve the workplace. However, I would not recommend this place if they still have the same higher-ups.

I worked here for a couple years and I loved the people I worked with but management was very poor. When hired, I was told I would get at least 20 to 30 hours a week and never got close to that. Staff who weren't in a management position were given one 3 hour shift a week at best and, when asking for more hours or extra shifts, would be told management would see what could be done but nothing would ever happen even after being told there were extra hours we could have. Same goes for employees attending college/university or working another job, school/ work schedule would be given to management and told that management would work around it but nothing would ever get done. The management in charge really shouldn't have been and took advantage of certain things. I could go on but there's really no point. It was way too stressful of a environment but my few coworkers and wonderful customers made it worth working there.

While Eclipse may be an alright job at first, it quickly becomes apparent that you’re getting thrown in the deep end. I was not trained well enough and often had moments of panic where I couldn’t help the customer properly. The manager often shared personal information with me that was not work appropriate. It was a very gossipy workplace, and I could not trust that I was not being talked about behind my back. I was promoted without being told that I would now have to work every Sunday. After being promoted to Shift Manager I made the same amount of money an hour as one of my Sales Associate coworkers. 
Eclipse could definitely be a great job for a store with better management, training and environment, but for me it ended poorly and I quit.

The dress code is ridiculous, wear all clothes currently in the store (they can not be sale items) which means you’ll be buying a new (expensive) outfit pretty much weekly. 
they won’t tell you if you do something wrong (but all your peers will know) , they'll just pent up the anger and then fire you out of the blue. 
The only way you’ll get good hours is if you’re brand new and after that (if you stay ,most people don’t) you’ll get barely any. 
Stock and visual are done practically daily so you will never know where anything is in the store which is annoying for both you and the customer. 
In the end it is a very stressful job for no reason, and I think if you’re a teenager looking for a starter job you shouldn't work there, it’s just way too much

I worked for eclipse for 2 years until I graduated high school and while it is a great starter job to get some experience, there were a lot of ups and downs. If you’re part time you get barely any hours unless it’s the holidays or your short staffed, which in my experience higher management that rarely visit the store try to overstaff and then you lose out on more hours. The pay was minimum wage but you have to wear their clothes they have in stock each season so a good chunk of your pay, even with a discount, goes right back to the company. Overall I loved working there in high school because the 2 main people I worked there with for most of my time were very kind and helped take out some of the boredom that standing around for awhile with no foot traffic caused. 

Was hired seasonally without  being told so. Myself and everyone else who was hired together were all promptly let go after Christmas. You have to continuously buy their "in-season" clothes to wear as a uniform but they are 50% off. Overall, management is friendly and helpful, with a few exceptions. There is a cliquey culture among the sales team and a specific personality type they are looking for. Lots of responsibilities and expectations for minimum wage.

Eclipse has treated me well, I’ve been there 2 1/2 years.  The DM, head office, they are all great.   Yes there’s always things to improve on but overall I believe it has to do with treating staff well and with respect, They will stay. It’s all about team work.  I would love to see more hours added so we aren’t working alone, that would help with theft, customer service, store functions and overall less burnout from staff.  Sometimes doing everything by yourself is too much.   It would also be nice to do inventory less.   I would love to see more different promotions frequently to move stock quicker. We have a small store in a small mall in a small town. Times are tough and people are always looking for a deal.
