If you are interested in dedicating time to learn, or continue the art of being a high performing sales individual, then apply as an estimator at Eco Paving.

Coming from someone who had very little knowledge about sales, and almost no knowledge about the construction industry—within two, to three months, I was already on my way to becoming the highest performing salesman at the company.

Of course, the cost of being the best always comes with sacrifice and hard work. Be willing to put in the hours (nights and weekends) and be prepared to get rejected from clients more times than you can believe! With that being said—the role is mostly rewarding (especially during peak season). 

The joy of driving from home, to home and learning about what makes each client tick, and their reasons for buying, or not buying, is an enlightening experience. One day you'll walk into a multi-millionaire's mansion with exotic sports cars in their garage, and the next day you're sitting with a young middle class family at their dining table negotiating their next paving project. Both clients will inevitably give you the objection: "Your product is too expensive"—how are you going to close the deal today? Hint: Do it hundreds of times, and you’ll be fluent at it.

On a typical day, you will do estimates for up to three to five clients, within one, or more territories. The drives can be long, so pull up your favourite sales audio book, and play it during your commutes to learn and stay motivated. Reading about self-development is highly encouraged at Eco Paving—you may even get the president handing you a book, or two every now and then.

On the management side, there was always support when I needed it—especially during training. When I first started, the sales manager and operations manager dedicated their time to help accelerate my skill-sets. To have their knowledge and years of experience passed down to me was invaluable.

The overall staff were friendly, and everyone seemed to be wanting to get better every day. If you had ideas for improvement, or something was bothering you—it was encouraged to speak up and voice your opinion.

Overall, working in the sales department at Eco Paving taught me a lot about being a great sales person, but more importantly—a great communicator. Meeting fascinating clients, making good money, earning bonuses, and going out to fun events with the team that the president rewarded was just the icing on the cake.

Working at Eco Paving has been a rewarding experience, offering insights into the paving industry and fostering personal and professional growth. A typical day at work involves a blend of hands-on tasks like preparing surfaces, laying recycled rubber and  EPDM while  ensuring quality finishes. This routine has enhanced my technical skills and  understanding of paving techniques

Although working could be stressful at times. But Eco Paving provides a dynamic and fulfilling work environment where learning, growth, and teamwork thrive, making it a fantastic place to build a career in the paving industry.

The company has a fun and supportive culture, everyone that works here is welcoming and show appreciation for a job well done. They have work events like BBQs planned every month during the peak season to show employee appreciation, where everyone in the company from the Installation-Admin is invited to interact with one another. 

Being a university student with no work experience what so ever I started at Eco Paving as a Laborer (Mixer) in the operations department, with the help of friendly and hard-working managers they trained me and provided me with all the necessary tools to excel at work and my personal life. I am now a Site Manager and looking forward to growing with the company.

Being an outdoor job and working in the summer, the heat can be very challenging so you need to make sure you stay hydrated and take care of yourself when paving. 

The most enjoyable part about the job is finishing a project at the end of the day and have a very satisfied client.

Everyone at this company is fantastic - there is not one person I don't like or don't get along with. Very much a family atmosphere. Management really cares about your wellbeing and helping you become the best person you can be both inside and outside the company. 

The job is sometimes slow in the winter season, so you have to actively find things to work on or you can start getting bored. In the spring as summer there is a lot going on and a lot to do and it can be stressful, but your team has your back and will be able to help you when you need it. 

Management is very approachable, anytime there is a problem or you make a mistake they are open to talking about it and fixing it without getting mad or holding it over your head.

I was told that the product is safe. there was no PPE requirements made by the management which put all of the installers at a great risk that we didn't even now about. I was covered in hives after working with the product and this did not go away. I was told that this was normal and not to worry. that was far from the truth. The company is a work safe hazard and if you have self love and care, do not put yourself in with this company. I have permanent blemishes and marks on my hands arms and neck now from what had happened to me. this place really needs to be shut down and I STAND by that.

What is the best part of working at the company?
Seeing how pleased the customers are with their successfully co pelted jobs. Before and After photos are very dramatic and satisfying! 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Constant pressure from management. 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
There was a lot of pretence when it came to all employee interactions.  

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Confirming and attending on-site estimates. Almost all were outside, so more enjoyable in nice weather.

This company isn't actually a bad place to work. The wages were fair but not great and there was some opportunity for growth. The company is a franchise and I can only speak for the location I was at but overall it was a good employer. 

The ECO in the companies name has nothing to do with their products being environmentally friendly. The only recycled rubber are the black pellets. All other colors are manufactured and a strong chemical is used in the mix prior to being installed. I know not everyone cares but it's a strange thing to have ECO in your company name and not really be eco-friendly.

You work as an independent contractor for them so you don't get any benefits and there is no base salary. The salary is $20 per estimate you get which can ranch drastically and 2% of the construction project as a bonus. Also, there is no paid training. In other words, the salary can ranch drastically from very little pay below the minimum wage to double the minimum wage if you have a great day. You get varied responses by door knocking so don't expect a consistent salary.

Like most workplaces, it's the people that make the work enjoyable. 

Eco Paving attracts kind, intelligent, hard-working and professional employees. We work well as a team and enjoy spending time with one another. 

The work can be fast-paced and management is understanding and accommodating. They do their best to ensure your work is well suited to your skills and talents and they always provide all the tools you need to get your work done. 

The atmosphere is nice and the health benefits are great too.
