A typical day at work consists of praying and hoping for a partner. We are to administer medications, prepare meals, cook meals, serve meals, feed residents, cleaning up before and after meals, cleaning rooms, taking residents out in the community, with little to no support as well with no heads up or common curtesy for the worker. The management is sub par, yet it has slightly improved. I have learned and still learning about effective and respectful communication. 
Especially with non verbal individuals. “Baby talk” is NOT acceptable. 
Dealing with over opinionated know it all Co- workers. Communication in general is very poor. You usually starting off with your glass half full and and up leaving work with your glass half empty…  questioning if you are good at your job, even if you know you are a  responsible, competent, accepting, kind & accountable person. As well as being pressured into doing certain tasks that you believe are personally unsafe and triggering for panic attacks. As well this negatively impacts your mental health & well being. To say the least, the term “right to refuse” is only for the residents. 




The manager was great. Very supportive and understanding. Always available if I had questions. She kept a lot of balls up in the air and did it with grace. That being said.. there should be 3 staff to manage a full caseload. But it was just me and the manager. The manager does not have time to be super hands on with staff for this program as she is the manager for the whole building as well. So the workload was very heavy. When I got there there was lots to clean up and figure out. Not a lot of systems put in place for how to keep clients documents. The duties were not clear for my position and the other position I was to work with. Needs to be MUCH more organized. I really tried to do that but had a very hard time taking clients on right away and also trying to fix other things I felt like needed to be fixed for proper documentation keeping. 

This job has its good aspects like the residents and the fellow care partners and the benefits are amazing but there is a lot of room for improvement. 
Management has been inconsistent at all levels and communication between all levels has been severely lacking to say the least. 
Most people in full or part time positions who have seniority have only been there for 6-12 months. The staff try their best but it did feel chronically understaffed and extremely under appreciated. 

Eden is a good place to work overall. The residents and their families are wonderful. There are a lot of dedicated and friendly staff in the company. Compensation is okay when compared with other companies (not the highest but not the lowest) the benefits package is better than most places. 

It is a growing company and it spans the whole province. This comes with some growing pains but these are being sorted out as time goes on. 

This company is great if you want to be over worked, no management that cares about you and have amazing residents then this is the job for you. All they care about is themselves. If you ask for some help, you'll be told no. Everyone turns a blind eye, it doesn't matter how much you do because no one cares. They have no idea how to hire an actual manager. With this job they truly believe everyone can be replaced no matter what.

I have been here for a year and a half.  
They have replaced the manager 3 times. 
Human Resources are petty and uncaring. They will treat like you are completely expendable. Almost no training.  No leadership.  No chance of a promotion.  No pay raises.  No bonuses. One of my coworkers was refused time off for the birth of his son. Zero flexibility in schedule.

Tasking, yet challenging and rewarding.

Service manager is lack of communication and management skills! As a Canadian, who has worked in care field for more than 10 years has to say " This manager needs to leave ! " I hope the management can have a good talk with different staffs so that lots of facts about this manager  will be found out! 

Lots of hours if you are wanting hours!

Amazing residents, very much like a home atmosphere.

Eden care is a toxic environment. There is a lack of properly trained staff, and zero room for advancement.
Many staff are bullied, and treated poorly by coworkers and management.
