Edmonton International Airport

On a typical day at Budget car and truck rental I mostly just detailed the vehicles coming in. It was a fun work environment where we all had fun in our positions. I learned how to work independently and maintain focus and attention to detail. The most enjoyable part of the job would have been driving the vehicles to and from the airport kiosk, whereas the hardest part would be when an incredibly dirty vehicle came in just because it would take longer to clean.

The EIA is undergoing massive expansion and as a result is experiecing changes that it has not gone through before.

They are struggling with an inadequate workforce who are going to be hard tasked to keep up with an infrastructure that is soon to be 50% bigger than it was just a few years ago.

The results are major stress put on the existing work force who have not always bought into the process.

There will be major labour turn overs before things start to run smoothly again.

Shift work 4 on 4 off alternating days and nights 12 hours per shift
Get to work and learn variety of equipment with some physical labour
Brand new facilities(shop)
The hardest part is keeping busy on some nights. It is a weather dependent job so with no snow it can be hard to find ways of keeping busy.

But you work independently and with others but nights are usually alone. 

You work with the same crew for the entire season so you get to know your co-workers pretty well and they can be a lot of fun.

the department that i was in was a great group to work with but the trouble was the lack of leadership at that time.  The moral of the group was low due to management at that time.  organization of the tasks were sketchy and direction was next to nothing when completing a task.  if you had done something wrong or didn't understand, there was no help to correct.  the overall culture was ok but trying to work through covid times was not easy.

My job was fairly good when I started but it became slowly unstable resulting in the end an almost total dismissal of managers and office personnel.
I did like the flexible hour I had that made my day enjoyable.
The most enjoyable was the relationships I built with people in different areas of the airport.
Co-workers where ok.
The hardest part was seeing the company size down.

I was fortunate to be chosen to work with the RCMP in the SOCC at the Edmonton International Airport. I was also working in a Security position with full access to the entire airport, both airside and public areas. I worked with amazing staff my entire time there.

Too much stress physically and mental as there were not enough employee so the supervisors had to work more and do the job of 3 to 4 people work.. If they get enough employees then it is the best place to work and career also would shoot up as there were good in terms of growth in career

This is a place where working os fun, and they have interesting projects on the go.  But, if you are looking at growth, this is not te company you want to work for.  No opportunities to promotion nor training.  Only few preferred people get all the opportunities.

Kprime technology is probably the worst company I've ever worked for. The owners are greedy and want techs to work for pennies.  They do not respect their employees that actually do the work and want them to be available for their whole life.  No OT and brutal salary . No work-life balance.  Run far away from this company

With a desire to grow and improve it's culture, EIA is a great place to work. From the excellent wages to the great benefits, they try to take care of their employees very well.  Management is still a work in progress but there is more emphasis being put on employee engagement and really hearing what they have to say.
