I worked at EeStairs for over a decade, and it was an incredibly rewarding experience. The ownership provided numerous career growth opportunities and fostered an environment of continuous personal and corporate improvement. Its has been a few years since I started and overall it's a great place to work. Like any company, it has its challenges. The difference at EeStairs is, management tries to address those challenges with continuous improvement and long term solutions. It is not a fit for everyone; If you are skilled, outgoing, hardworking, and have a positive attitude its a great place to work. 

They buy us lunch from time to time and took us rafting on the grand river this summer as a team-building exercise. The rafting trip was awesome, hopefully, they will do something like this again. 

The best part of this company is the people I work with every day, and the amazing staircases we build.

Eestairs is one of the best companies I've had the good fortune to work for.  Working here will expose you to colleagues who are the best at what they do in the industry.  The company culture prioritizes teamwork, comradory and craftsmanship.  I believe the employees here take a lot of pride in what they do, and this is shown in the finished product.  This is a very well run company, and it values lean principles, employee satisfaction and isn't afraid to make investments for improvement.  There are regular team building events which foster a good work atmosphere with colleagues.   Most positions here require some specific skills, highly recommend working here.







I worked as a designer with Ee for over 2 years. Good company to work for, friendly staff, collaborative and some fun perks like lunches and team building events. Small to medium sized family owned business with lots of potential for growth. Ability to learn about many different trades like metal fabrication, carpentry, glazing, and paint. Best suited for highly skilled individuals, people who can adapt and learn quickly and a high attention to detail. Management tries to put employees in a position they can succeed personally and professionally.  

The work at EeStairs is very interesting and fun, especially when you get to travel and see it (Ne York, L.A., Vancouver, etc.).

Management is a bit timid with odd rules like no music in the shop. Has a family feel but not if you’re a part of that family (literally, everyone is related).

One day the owner took me aside and handed me a weeks pay and said good luck. Then proceeded to do the same with about half the company. No job security here!

The poor management, no sense of accomplishment. 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Project and production timelines are very poorly planned

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
There is a very poor work culture. Hardly anyone cares about quality. And when you bring up serious issues, your the problem. 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Work with my head down, and ignore everyone.

It's been just over a year since I have joined EeStairs so I thought it was time to leave a review.   I must say that it is a great place to work.  This is the first place where I have worked where you are truly part of a team as everyone is willing to assist and help you to continuously improve.  The company is growing and like any other place of work it does have it's growing pains; yet the company culture, team members and management all combine to make EeStairs a place that I enjoy coming to every day.

EeStairs is a great place to work because it is team orientated and at the end of the day you can leave feeling accomplished with what you did.  Everyone is willing to help you when you encounter a problem.  For bigger issues, management tries to address them quickly to continue improving.

There are team building exercises and lunches that help keep moral high.  If you are hard working, qualified, and looking for an exciting challenge, EeStairs would be a good fit for you.

We recently went through a full Lean training program.  The changes are amazing!  The management team is great - we do a lot of team activities and lunches to keep moral high.  The work we do is very complex and requires full focus and a high skill set, but the challenge is great, and we all work together to make it happen

The guys in the shop are great to work with, and are willing to share knowledge and techniques in the manufacturing process. There is always an opportunity to gain experience in different sections of the process, and participate on different jobs. 

Pay is alright, but there is always overtime available, especially for installs.
