At first I thought working at EGADZ would be a great long term experience but learned quickly it would be the opposite. The community was not welcoming to new staff, there was little to no training before hand or on site and expectations were all over the place. Within my first month of working two of my co-workers were fired for little to no reason which was the first red flag I saw from this company. Many staff were constantly coming in and out of the workplace creating an unstable atmosphere for clients and staff. While numerous employees were being fired, the business became understaffed causing stress and overwhelming feelings for the remaining staff members. I had personally caught numerous viruses and sicknesses from clients, causing in multiple sick days as i was unable to come to work. Taking numerous sick days resulted in my termination, which occurred over the phone, three hours before I was supposed to come into my shift. I was given zero reasoning as to why I was being removed from the workplace, and when I further inquired about the reasoning I was informed it was because of the amount of sick days I had taken and that my duties were not being fulfilled. I had not previously been talked to or warned about these “issues” and rather got terminated over the phone. This company is highly unprofessional as well as their management. Do NOT recommend 

I worked for Egadz for years and never had any problems like what are being posted in these reviews. I never had a supervisor or someone else be rude or demanding or whatever. I worked in the afternoons/evenings and was expected to have supper ready for the house and plan activities that got the youth active and having fun. When I had any problems I called one of the supervisors and they would help me figure out what to do. I was able to go to school while working full time and booked time off for my exams. I thought the training was good, it was like 3 or 4 days, and talked to my coworkers when I needed to. Sometimes it would get stressful but it wasn't anything outside of what I expected to be dealing with. I felt supported I guess? Like not coddled but I didn't feel alone. I think Egadz is awesome and would work there again if I moved back to the city. 

You gotta have a good relationship with the management of you want to be growing in this company. By saying that, I mean you have to be on their side, compliment on them, and zip your mouths up because they will find any reasons to throw you under the bus. I enjoy who I work with but not who I work for. The work place is TOXIC! People love gossiping and stirring up the drama pot everyday. As much as I love to help and support the youth, they are frustrated too with how they are treated. You are trained to do A but the under table rule says B and C. Some kids even have rule D or E. So basically, you have to please everyone by knowing their rules even though on the paper you are told to follow Rule A. And don’t let me start with management! They lie and don’t care about staff! They fillip the table on you and act like they are “victim”. That’s why they are always hiring new people because everyone quits!

Working at Egadz is not the best. Your coworkers are not reliable sources and you can’t trust them, people will favourite certain youth and others are neglected. Staff are underpaid and overworked with awful hours that are not sustainable. You can get fired for no reason whatsoever and you are not paid out. The management is lazy and expects you to take care of everything including the work vehicles. If you have any concerns it’s best to shut your mouth or else they will try and make you feel stupid. The kids are all on a lot of medication. The rules are bent constantly for certain people but others there is zero tolerance. Unfair place to work. 

The program itself is great, most clients were great as well, very interesting hearing their stories & getting to know them! However, the staff love to talk poorly of clients and other staff, and favouriting clients. The management is not great, terrible communication - rarely you will get an answer after work hours (calling in or for an emergency). Will cut hours without notice, terrible job security. Lacks integrity. Majority of the time you are understaffed as well. This place could be great with different staff & management!

Toxic, no staff advocacy, little advocacy for most clients, enabling tendencies to other clients. This is a reunification program, but I have personally watched so many families relive traumas because of this program. If you have any sort of decency, this place isn't for you. I stuck around for the schedule and the pay, but now that I'm gone, my stress level has dropped substantially. Do your research and find a place where their value system aligns with yours. 

I don’t recommend anyone to work there. So much drama and no real support system for staff. 
It’s a wonderful program for youth and could be so much more, but the current programs manager drives everyone away. Everyone talks about how much they hate her. Overall it’s a toxic work environment because of her. It was an awful experience. 


• We cut grass and shovel snow around the city at people houses and we cut grass at a camp ground
• I learned that I can make friends with almost anyone and that I like working  I wanna work more tho and learn new things
• my Manger/ boss helps me us with what we need too do most of the time

Egadz treats staff awfully, it reflects in how staff are able to support the youth. They cannot get good staff and those they have they treat very badly. Staff constantly feel threatened and are treated very badly by management and supervisors. They fire staff with no reason and treat long term staff awful.

If your looking for a rewarding eye opening career this is it, best job I have ever had!!!! Once my kids are older I plan on applying back! Don is great to work for as well!! Family dynamic working for egadz
