What is the best part of working at the company?
Working for elections was good. Our whole team including my boss was new to it so there was a lot to figure out as we went. I was a supervisor for a team of people that went door to door registering eligible voters and they worked from 10am to 8pm so I had to be there the whole time which I didn’t know when I accepted the job so that was an adjustment and it goes for two weeks straight like that no days off.  All in all the supervisors make fantastic money so it made the long days worth it. I would do it again but if you don’t handle stress well and long hours it may not be for you.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Long hours and on the phone with I.T constantly trouble shooting the system that updates registering the voters 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Our office was very relaxed and had great people in it

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Come in and get your print out of all the areas that still have addresses to visit and get your team organized with maps and a plan of who will be in each area. Once everyone is out on the road you monitor them
With check in phone calls at certain times and are available for them to call with questions. If I had time I jumped on a computer and helped the clerks enter the data to keep up to the changes that needed to be made to voters lists

I worked for an officer appointed by Elections Manitoba and not for them directly. It's all about who you work for and the team I was included on was amazing and fun to work with. They made the long and sometimes aggravating days great and entertaining.

Depending on your position (from data entry all the way to Senior Voting Officer) the tasks vary. As I was doing multiple positions I got to visit peoples houses during enumeration and pre-registration, enter in that data into the Elections Voter Information database, process voters during advanced polling and oversee voting locations on election day.

In general the days were long, 12h or more during polling days as election workers. Registration Agents (enumerators) choose their own hours and typically we did 6-7 hours at a time. Data Entry ranged from 4-13h depending on what needed to be done.

Pay ranged from hourly (Data entry, Registration Agents, Information Officers) to daily (Voting Officers). And was mostly at a fair wage except for the data entry position. In my opinion the pay rate for that was low, especially for quality DA people.

I would split my daily route of door to door route by going out in the early afternoon until 4 o'clock, and then returning to my route for an early evening run for those persons not at home during the day. 

Working alone and delivering my numbers every evening allowed me to manage my time more efficiently and enhanced my personal skills on a one to one basis with residents. 

Management was excellent and kept me on my toes with regular calls to my home and with keeping track of my number of addresses enumerated. They did so tactfully, in a motivational manner and were very personable to be around. 

The hardest part of this job was the cold weather outings.  

The most enjoyable part of the job was getting to know neighbors in my area of Charleswood.

I learned the nitty-gritty process of the voting process. The training part before the actual job was a very watered down version of the guide book that was issued, but it helped clear up any questions. I didn't get to meet any higher ups, except for my supervisors who were all very knowledgeable about all the positions. The hardest part of the job was sitting around between large bouts of people/voters for long periods of time and the most enjoyable part was seeing people from different backgrounds, beliefs, etc all come and vote for their preferred candidate.

If you can put something on the table then do it. But also know your place. Be humble. Humility will go a long way. Realise that there are some who will uplift you and other who will not add something to the table. But you will not go unnotticed to the people who YOU matter to. They will recognise you and give you more opportunites. 
I cant give a general review of Elections Manitoba as there are many levels/divisions it contains to operate. But I will tell you this... there is something for everone.

The day of work start by identifying to area to be covered.
I moved from one address to another. Knocking the door, introducing my self to people , telling them why I am there.Then proceeding of registration of the person who accept to vote.

With my colleagues, we exghange on how to enumerate more people without refusal from them.

The hardest part of the job how to convince people to vote and the most enjoyable is achievement of enumerating more than twenty people a day.

I have learned most how to approach people so that they can give time to what you have to say.

I needed a few extra dollars, and this position came up fast! You're not soliciting anything. All you're doing as an enumerator is going door to door, registering people to vote for the provincial election. The more names you get, the more money you make! It's minimum wage base, plus $1/name registered.

Not exactly pleasant when it's -40 out, but they give you mitt and boot warmers so you don't freeze to death!

I'll definitely go back for the next provincial election! :)

Worked for Elections MB as an enumerator, and as Assistant Voting Officer in Advance Polls and Voting Officer on Election Day.  Enumeration was piece work (you got paid by the number of voters you registered)-- on the plus side, it was great exercise.  Acting as an assistant/voting officer made for long days with a lot of sitting, but it wasn't difficult work, and you are assisting with the democratic process.  The pay is not great-- when you factor in all your time, you end up being paid barely minimum wage. 

Excellent work environment. 
Learnt being thorough with details as it was a key to the job. DATA collection 
Welcoming and lively Returning Officer, fun to be around 
Job was impactful as there I got the opportunity to hear views about voters opinions concerning the elections even though it was not in my duty to comment. Company policy duly followed as instructed
