I remember working there years ago. I was doing data entry for them. I found the job easy, and I liked the people there. It was a shift for me both professionally and emotionally.
I remember it being about office work. I would come in day by day to transfer paper documents to digital format. It was decent work, and the first time I felt the value of meaningful work.
I learned to use a scanner here as that was entirely new to me. The software was easy to learn then as they use Microsoft Word, which I am still proficient in to this day.
I didn't interact much with management, but what I remember of them was wholly positive.
I was happy with the workplace culture as well, but it's been a long time so I don't remember much.
The hardest part of data entry is being patient. This type of job gets boring fast and you have to be motivated.
The most enjoyable part was exploring the new technology. It's always nice to pick up a new skill and be able to adapt to it.

My day at EDS was rewarding and I enjoyed everything about my job. I worked for UAL  I would book cargo, human remains, transport of donated organs, also booked fresh produce, and animals through out the world. We got to know our customers over the years.Management and co-workers, we always got along . The hardest part of my job if I was doing an organ transports and couldn't get a flight out due to a storm. That was heart breaking. The other hardest part of my job was when we had to say good-bye to our customers because the company folded and moved else where. The most enjoyable part of my job besides booking flights was my co-workers, if you couldn't find a booking they would help you out and management would also chip in and look. The customers would always understand and at times we would call them back with their bookings which pleased them.

Being able to converse with other GM employees North American wide and assist with their needs and requests. Hardware/software support - first level resolution. If any of the incidents required further escalation, they would be given to Remote Desktop team to assist.

Team of approx. 16 service desk agents, myself and 2 other colleagues were Team Coaches. Maintained SLA and followed ISO standards to ensure all incidents were tracked and responded to in a timely and descriptive manner.

I also did the schedule adherence for the team - reporting on metrics, calls received / calls answered, abandonment rate, etc.

This was one of the best companies I've ever worked for.  Although the pay wasn't the best, the benefits and bonuses were fantastic.  We were encouraged to apply for job advancements, were given online courses for free.  We were taught so much more than just our jobs as customer reps and were treated with great respect.  We had barbeques and contests and always something interesting to do.  The staff at EDS far surpassed any other.  The calls could become very trying, but your supervisor or sme or team leader always had your back.

I admired all the people that I worked with, my managers, my supervisors and fellow employees. Everyone worked great together and it was a great environment. I learned about vehicles and credit cards. I learned to take peoples confidential information and use it efficiently and not provide it to others. The hardest part of the job was the hours, not very flexible with hours. I became a faster typer and also this was where I became a part of the Quality Assurance team. My fellow co workers respected my role, and I loved doing it.

This was a call center. A typical day involved answering phones and helping customers with domestic and international cargo bookings for United Airlines. I learned a lot about the airline business in the cargo department. Many of my co-workers were great friends, still are. Management, other than my direct supervisor, the managers really didn't take the time to learn the names of employees because there was so many. Hardest part of the job was the hours. No flexibility. Most enjoyable part of the job was interacting with the different cargo terminals around the world.

Typical day:
Assisted CIBC employees, both inbound and outbound with the understanding and selection of their annual benefits plan
Used software like PeopleSoft, Email and Remedy to access, communicate, and record enquiries made by employees and advise given to employees
Responsible for faxing and filing administration forms received from employees
Used Excel to create spreadsheets to record attendance and hours worked for payroll purposes for casual staff/employees
I learned people can be very rude

There were many daily requirements of the job, such as calling individuals to campaign on the Island to walk door to door seeking funds from residents in the community. Dealing with clients that came to the office seeking various program offerings and answering questions. Management was good and they were approachable.
Cold calling was the hardest part of the job at first. The most enjoyable part was working with all involved as part of a team.

I started just as a paralegal in Ottawa, moved to Toronto and worked as a Team Leader and Quality Control. Then moved to assist in the creation of the computer software for transferring the paper records to an automated system by teaching the software technicians the requirements and then testing the program for accuracy and writing the user manual for training purposes.

Performed onsite desktop support of 250 users
Investigated problems, resolving 93% within required SLA relating to hardware, printing & peripherals
Maintained inventory control of 250 computers & monitors, work order documentation
