Element Materials Technology

Not a real sales job, as you are doing inside sale and not outside. There is little to no training provided, certainly nothing structured. For a huge company, why is there not standard training provided? You're not set up for success. 

The job is extremely technical and you're expected to be an expert in everything which is not realistic at all. Reporting structure needs work as the sales manager is removed from the location. Site manager has no clue about sales but tries to control everything.

Way too many procedures and processes which impedes actual work getting done.The worst company culture I have ever witnessed in my career. .

Upper management has no idea how to run a business. The only management that is reliable is your manager. Anyone at GM or higher are out of touch with their employee's needs, thus making it a horrible work environment. 4 resigned and they didn't hire anyone. The solution is to dump the work on other employees. Pay is horrible and their is no promotions or bonuses or pay increases to be had. A company more interested in acquisitions than pouring into what it already has. If Health Canada and FDA actually looked behind the smoke and mirrors, Element would be shut down.

Alot of Over time. CoWorkers and management were nice. Everyone got along for the most part. Way to much work load. Lots of over time.  There was no work life balance.

Not paid enough! They want university graduates yet pay them the same amount as non-graduates. With inflation, how can one afford to cover the cost of living.

This was my first entry level lab job age graduating. Lots of opportunity to learn, gain valuable experience, and make money. Not sustainable career.

wages need to be more competative.
besides that you are able gain lots of knowledge from every department

In Element, there is work life balance. The managers are really helpful and understanding. Paid vacation.
Training is given before the job. You can ask questions until you understand the work.

It was quite evident early on that career advancement was not really possible if you weren't directly involved in the lab. Every other option that was available career-wise was lateral at best. 

Good place to learn and gain experience in the laboratory set-up. HR does not care so much to their employees and same to the upper management. You will hear or rarely see them or talk to them.

Good people and team. The work itself isn't bad after you get over the learning curve, however there is very limited room for growth and salary is not great for a long term career.

You will be worked brutally for a low wage. Very often pressured to work when sick to meet deadlines, also extremely common to be pressured into working 12+ hour days.
