What is the best part of working at the company?
Interaction with our resident, ability to connect with our community,family atmosphere and the opportunity to cook from scratch using non frozen foods.
Management and department heads are always visible including owners.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Staffing and delivery of some local food items .

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Mostly pleasant and professional 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
I get in at 5 am … shift starts at 6 am … 
Begin arranging utensils and other equipment for the day,prepare breakfasts, cleanup , start preparation for lunch,begin batch cooking with priority, maintain all safety measures overseeing service of meals and cleaning of all equipment assist with preparation of supply. 
Delegate necessary preparation for next day meal . And maintain all equipment complying with all necessary procedures and hack.

Working at Elm Grove Living Centre was a very proffesional environment. I learned many valuable skills such as dealing with patients and staff, organization, file sorting, typing, taking phone calls and etc needed in order to work in a medical setting. My morning started withe answering phone calls and taking messages. I then had to sort the mail and deliver them to staff and residing residents. I had to do the daily announcements over the P.A systems. I booked appointments for new clients and their families. I also welcomed and greeted the visitors. I was required to be their at 5: 00 a.m sharp and I was always punctual as the staff needed me to open up and unlock the alarms to get get the office up and running each morning.

Workplace Culture is the worst. Most of the "Management" Team are mostly lazy people who delegates almost everything to their staff while they Gossip around the whole day, then takes all credit for any work done by the subordinates. 

Incentives for staff/employees is either Tim's Donuts and Coffee or Pizza, while the Management goes for nice lunch out. 

The hardest part of the Job is not the actual Job but mostly dealing with toxic Management.l, who is either "on leave/working from home" or gossiping proudly while the regular staff is working hard.

COVID-19 time
Sometimes staff shortage

Whenever the management understands us .
How this job is not easy and Whenever we are busy.

Working at EGLC has been fulfilling as it allows me to help in the healthcare field even in the most minimal ways. Every tasked performed is part of the larger picture that makes this place one of the best long term care facility in Toronto. Different resources are available for everyone. The dynamic with the staff is magical as well as with the residents. If every workplace in the world had an atmosphere like EGLC, the world would thrive far more than it does.

Chaos all over the building. No communication  between  office people and  floor people.  Dont know whats going on in building.

office people come to floor to always give there work to staff, but no follow up.  We have nobody to work on floor, but lots of agency and office people sitting doing nothing.

all office people leave by 3pm. Sometimes they all have same day off. No good for residents.

Some days it's a great place to work, managers are some what nice. Co-workers are friendly and helpful. You Just got to keep doing your work well and you won't have any problems with anyone here. Full time is hard to get but you can work the full time hours due to people who always go on vacation...

This is the only nursing home where you receive goodies and gifts during Nursing Week and Christmas. It’s a wonderful place to work, with many perks and genuinely great people. Residents receive excellent care, and we have helped revive individuals who were once at the verge of dying.
