Worst management ...supervisor ect I have ever worked for. They don't care about your health or personal situations should any arise as they just use that opportunity to use against you. The Housekeeping manager is just a horrible person who is very gossipy and will stop at nothing to make you end up with a massive aniexty attack and send you home in tears as she feels superior when she berates you in front of customers and fellow employees.  Please know that the Housekeeping manager also goes into the rooms before the cleaner and scoops the girls tips. She also steals time from the company as she never puts in her hours comes and goes as pleases all at collecting a full paycheck that was not earned.  We have lost a lot of fantastic employees in this department all because her bullying in which HR was addressed and nothing was done.

They will not give you any training unless they really need you to do the task otherwise they are afraid that you take their positions, funny but real, some of the managers are awesome, but there are others who mustn't be managers s they have zero management skills and won't tell you if you made a mistake, they will just talk about you behind your back, wow what a skill! Zero consideration and appreciation for your efforts, they push you to the point where you just wanna finish and go home. Salary wise, it's bad and they won't cover any gas expenses tho they are far, and they won't tell you that they don't give benefits until you sign and start working, maybe this is my mistake I didn't check but also as an HR department they should explain everything for you, not just sign here and here.. complete disappointment, my worst job ever.

I worked in a pretty high up role at the Elmhurst and can say that you will never be backed by others or experience working as a team. HR is a complete joke and the management fires most employees without any cause... no union so they get away with it. Kitchen is filthy and the head chef is verbally abusive to most kitchen staff (irate, swears, yells and gets very angry). Kitchen staff (line cooks and dishwashers) are very kind and good to work with. The entire environment at the Elmhurst is run by men and most women who has worked there for 20+ years will tell you countless stories where the men belittle the women and exhibit sexist behavior. Coming from a former team of management, do not work here. You will not be respected, valued or paid well and eventually will quit, like I did. (Job dates are obviously fake for anonymity purposes)

Liked what I did making the beds leaning new things and making friends and loved making my own money cleaning the rooms and making beds and did not work long there had some issue but when i was there i made lots of friends working in the kitchen and helping in the morning for breakfast and there was a pool that we brought the kids there for us to go swimming it was a beautiful place for someone to enjoy there stay away from home and it was nice there rates to stay there with there pets it was nice got my mom a job there and my sister I like the elm Hurst they were good to me and my family

This workplace was extremely unprofessional. Management regularly gossiped about employees, showed clear favoritism, and spoke rudely about staff in front of others. There was a complete lack of empathy for employees, and both the manager and assistant manager consistently avoided taking accountability for their behavior. When these issues were brought to a higher-up, they were not taken seriously or properly addressed.

A good place to get some housekeeping experience but days were usually very fast paced. The manager reminded me of a gossipy 16 year old which is very strange for a near 50 year old woman. I never saw it with my own eyes but I heard rumours of the manager going into rooms before you to take your tips. I believe that is the type of thing she would do. Not a terrible job, just not great either.


PSA: Elm hurst definition of cleaning wine glasses and coffee mugs is "give it a quick rinse with hot water" 

Being part-time, it was a weekend job where in a limited amount of time one was taught how to act towards guests and others in the workplace. Also and most important the expectations and sanitary needs of a guests rooms and the public areas of the Inn. The hardest part wasn't actually hard, just finished all rooms in time. The most enjoyable part was seeing how pleased the guests' were with your service and knowing the work was worth it.

I  worked  for Elmhirst for 2 years and I loved working there.  Most of the staff were wonderful, caring, and hard working.  The business however is family owned and like in most families, family comes first and in that case your job is not 100% secure. Witch is unfortunate.

I worked in few hotels in my career life. Hospitality is fast paste, fun environmental,  usually work with younger team members. 
The management is very professional, they are taking the time to listen, train and make sure employees know the correct directions.

Housekeeping is not a good place to work. It all begins with management. The two in charge of the department openly talk poorly about their employees to other employees. This creates such a toxic work environment, as no one has respect for anyone.  There is poor communication from management and everything is reflected on scheduling.
