My time spent working as a stock showroom associate was a terrible experience during the course of a month. We had to go through piles of rugs with a salesperson for the majority of the day for customers. While on days when it’s not busy we are asked to either complete projects or to re-stack many piles which would be physically tasking for the reason that these carpets weigh A LOT. I hated how management ran the rug department treating the stock team as if we’re robots. Management wouldn’t give you a break when it comes to doing this job. They always want you to be occupied with something. Some days I would leave work with back pains. Our breaks were a 45 mins lunch and a 15 min break. Also, for people that smoke, usually get an extra 30 mins on break since they go out all the time with the manager. The sales team had a few good people but the rest were obnoxious, annoying and impatient to make a sale. Altogether, the only good thing about this job is the stock team. The people I’ve met from here are one of greatest coworkers I’ve had yet.

My experience at Elte is a mix bag, it's a 90 year old company who sells expensive luxury items to people who need their homes furnished. Management have great attitudes, they try their best to maintain workplace standards and encourage positivity. although they lack integrity, and need to be more transparent. The job culture is very relational, and people often pride themselves in expensive taste and the allure of luxury. Although it can also become very demanding and callous, and often time back-end workers don't feel the sense of belonging or worthiness. The owner is a pleasant individual who carries himself in a very poised and professional manner, always accessible, but doesn't always show how approachable he is, unless upper management is involved. Maintenance is horrible. It's a company who have stand the test of time through creating a family dynasty who makes the sells the best home and décor for the standards of the wealthy.

I was hired for a short-term contract in the quality assurance department (dealt mostly with broken items due to manufacturing errors), but the head of the department was adamant that I wasn't necessary and barred every opportunity for me to do the job I was hired for.  I wasn't allowed to use a computer (so I couldn't access the system or get in contact with customers or manufacturers), wouldn't let me take inventory of broken items, and I wasn't allowed to be in the warehouse part by myself.  The head of the department came in with a cold and because of my compromised immune system, I fell seriously ill and had to take two weeks off.  They fired me before I was well enough to return and offered no severance, and never paid me for the three weeks I did work.

After the contract I was supposed to be transitioned into the customer service department, and they just had a huge turnover.

A typical day at work involved assessing the condition of the showroom and what needs attention. this entails: finding items that are tagged as sold, returning any items that may have been moved to their assigned location, ensuring the fabric room is kept tidy. 
During my time at Elte I learned personal accountability. My managers gave me the freedom to decide how i was to complete the daily tasks i would be given.
I really enjoyed working with my co-workers. they always made a workday fun and helped relieve stress during busier hours. 
The hardest part of my job was dealing with a large amount of requests from 3 or 4 sales people at a time while only being partnered with only 1 other stock associate. 
despite this rather challenging situation, working with my team to overcome such hurdles was the most rewarding part of my job.

Luxury store prefers to cater to the very wealthy. Extremely over priced items. Pay structure is disgusting, only commission which is nerve wrecking on a day to day basis. Boring all the time. Greedy employees who stab you in the back. Do not apply or bother getting an interview, you will be mislead with promises of making a lot of money. The only employees making six figures work with reputable designers who are favorites by Managment.

Never work here. The culture and treatment of stock workers is abysmal. The management is full of bureaucrats that engage in politics more than tending to the needs of their support staff. I was even asked to complete unsafe work, hanging a heavy rug on a shaky 10 foot high scaffold, during my time. There's better options for work out there. Do not take a stock position her EVER.

Let me start by saying this job is only good for a short time hustle the management is very poor putting sales people over stock associates sales people are rude and talk down to you you are asked with doing sometimes unsafe work the pay isn’t great for what they ask of you toxic work environment

High‑performing, motivated salespeople can thrive here, sale roles are commission‑based and building a portfolio in year one is challenging. For office roles, it’s like any other company.

Reasonable schedule and flexible accommodations. Culture is outdated in technology and primarily operated with legacy associates. The hardest part of the the job is transitioning into their procedures and expectations with lack of training and consistency.

Beautiful environment to walk into every morning. Management genuinely cares about their team and the company. The company provides a great work life balance with day time hours and closed all statutory holidays. Highly recommend this as a great place to work!
