Working at this company was a disappointing experience. From the beginning, it was clear that management lacked both leadership skills and accountability. Communication was poor, direction was inconsistent, and there was little to no support for employee development. Decisions were often made arbitrarily, with no transparency or regard for how they impacted staff.

Human Resources was ineffective and seemed more interested in appeasing management than supporting employees. Any concerns brought forward were either dismissed or met with rehearsed responses that led nowhere,making it feel like HR existed solely for show.

As for compensation, it was well below industry standards given the workload and expectations. Raises were rare (if ever), and there was no real recognition for hard work or initiative.

Overall, this is not a place I would recommend for anyone looking for professional growth, fair treatment, or a supportive work environment. Proceed with caution.


What is the best part of working at the company?
There was no best part. They like to bully people until they quit or have a break down. This is the worst company I ever worked for. I wish I never walked through that door. 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
The constant bullying, by the Management team. If you were not one of their favourites you were treated like garbage in front of everyone. They tried to embarrass and humiliate you if you didn’t understand what you are supposed to do. 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
The worst I have ever seen. Stay away from this toxic company.

You get to meet some awesome people, however upper management is all related, and there are lots of "games". Overtime is not compensated and increase in wages are never given. I learned to be confident in the work i am capable of doing from having a few hard years and much over time worked. I can not say any further positives about wage, no benefits, and worked until you can't anymore.

What is the best part of working at the company?
You work fairly autonomously but no working from home. 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Yes. Too much work load. No benefits. No money for employees. 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
It's like a dictatorship. No new ideas are welcome. Information comes from the top down only. 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Stressful. Overworked and under appreciated.

A lot gets done in a day and I enjoy looking back on all I get accomplished. Never a dull moment and lots of chances to learn new things. My manager has been very helpful with training and learning new positions in the company. The open door policy is great and I never feel like I'm on my own if I'm struggling with a problem tenant or a situation not worked on before.

Management and most co-workers are excellent to deal with. Love feeling comfortable to approach management with a question or just a friendly chat. One of the most positive work environments I've ever been a part of. Lots of fun things planned for employees like anniversary lunches. Love learning the Property Management industry and adding to my accounting expertise.

Yelling, lies, low wages, tell you one thing but never come through with promise, monthly staff turnover, favorites can make lots of mistakes with no consequences, bullied on a monthly basis yet other coworkers can do the same but no reprimand, no one is truly happy but lie to management

The only reason a qualified tradesperson should work for Emerald is if you really need a job, especially as a Carpenter. Extremely high turnover rates are the only clue you need. They are CONSTANTLY firing and hiring. You are hired for a "full time position" but never get full time hours. Met some great people but all in all a very odd work environment.



I truly enjoyed my time working here. I learned so much from my manager, who was patient, incredibly supportive, and always made the effort to check in regularly. The work environment was positive and collaborative, which made it a great place to grow both professionally and personally. I would go back in a heartbeat!



Company offers no health benefits or vehicle allowance for Managers whether Residential or Condominium which is unheard of. Hours are not flexible like all other property management companies but, employees are welcoming and upper management are very hands on and always willing to assist.
