I have been in this industry for 20+ years and haven't seen this level of unprofessionalism ever. I've never worked for a unionized company better, and probably will never again. Firstly, they didn't make me aware that unionization was a requirement for my role. They did take off union dues and pension amounts off my pay without my consent or knowledge. To get into the union is a pricey and lengthy process. The upper management does not communicate to each other well, and every foreman has different rules. There is no structure.

On top of all this, hours and wages promised were not followed through with. More than half of the employees are laid off right now, and those of us who are working are having our hours cut. Machines are old, no one cares about taking care of them, and health and safety policies are thrown to the wayside. If you are thinking that this big organization is a good place to work, you are wrong. Run far far away from Emil. Anywhere else will be better than here. 

I genuinely enjoy working at Emil Anderson Group. I get to work with wonderful people who care about their work and support each other, which makes even challenging days rewarding. The work itself is interesting, diverse, and full of opportunities to learn and grow.
Safety is also truly a top priority here. It’s not just a slogan — the company genuinely means it. Decisions, processes, and culture all reflect a real commitment to keeping people safe, and that’s something I value deeply.
Another thing I appreciate is how forward‑thinking EAG is. The company has fully embraced AI and even built a dedicated department around it. It’s exciting to work somewhere that invests in innovation and gives employees tools to work smarter and continuously improve.

Good Pay Union work Job was close to home.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Operating Articulating 45 Ton Rock Truck loading from Excavator on a Mountain side with exstreme side slopes steep Grades to backup on with narrow blind corners and softspots in rough cut road to travel on that you could easily have a Rollover if operating the Truck too fast or not watching where to have the wheels straddle the soft low spots. 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Work enviroment was Dangerous due to Operating on a Mountain side in Virgin Ground Conditions.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Over 50 loads in 10 hour days with some fantastic views due to height of working areas overlooking a Lake.

From the highest levels of the organization down, it is very evident that EAG is a people first group of companies. The people first, hard working and collaborative culture transcends all levels of the organization. EAG is focused on building its people and propelling them through their careers. Retention is extremely high and there are very few organizations that would compare to the experience most have with this group. Highly recommend to anyone who wants to excel, learn, work hard and contribute to a greater good. 

What is the best part of working at the company?
Company cares more about Equipment then about employees. They hire and lay off at ease to pad the pocket book. They hire a guy and lay him off before Union kicks in. If u hurt yourself, they Make do light duties instead of of healing properly and then use that to pay you off. 
Crooked company in my opinion as I was employed and seen it 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Management is crooked & always cutting corners , I was with Civil construction 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Xmas parties only for management, workers not invited to the golf country club party or any other

Work hard so your best, then go fix the mistake of other crews

The team is friendly, organized, and supportive, which makes a big difference in day-to-day operations. Communication is clear, expectations are reasonable, and I feel like my contributions are valued. It’s a great place to grow professionally while maintaining a healthy work-life balance.

Working at EAG has helped me grow both professionally and personally. I’ve developed strong technical skills, improved my ability to communicate across teams, and gained valuable insight into project management and problem-solving. Management is approachable, supportive, and genuinely interested in employee development. Feedback is constructive, and leadership is transparent about goals and expectations.

What is the best part of working at the company?
Not much that I can say,was very challenging in all aspects.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Lots of equipment issues to deal with to keep units available to use,and most equipment gets taken away every year to other areas.
Lots of problems trying to get operators to fill shifts in winter time.
Poor communications.
No recognition for going above,and beyond. 
Very long days trying to deal with all the ongoing issues here.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Very long days,no rest most of the time.Stressfull,and on edge all the time waifing or the next call to come in to have to respond to at all hours day/night.

A typical day at work was intense labor for the most part. I learned what to expect in this line of work and that i do have what it takes to make it. Management was adequate and my co-workers were a real colorful bunch who i would love to work alongside again. The hardest part of the job was the physical labor but i was in poor shape from lack of work in the previous year. That wouldn't be an issue this time. The most enjoyable part of the job was my co-workers, they were encouraging and likable.
